About the College: Subhas Chandra Bose Centenary College established in the year of 1998 on 12th August in the memory of the great freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. But the institution got it’s affiliation from the University of Kalyani in 2002. It is placed at Lalbagh in Murshidabad district, West Bengal, India. It is approximately 14km away from the Jila sadar Berhampore. The college offers 3 year degree courses in different Honours and General subjects and also arranges Remedial classes as well as Career Counselling courses for the students to make them more competent and competitive. There are a very active NSS Unit in the college. An energetic Women Cell always works for any related issues. There are two ICT rooms and a well furnished Seminar Hall for the Seminars and Conferences. A well equipped Gym is there to construct the physical health of the students. There are also a Language Lab & Eco Club in the college. The teaching & Non-teaching staffs are every encouraging and interactive with the students. It has an eco-friendly campus with a green environment. The college has organized many National seminars in various departments in the past. Now its trying to step out of the country with an International Webinar organized by the Department of Sanskrit.
. About the Department:
सं कृतं भारतीयसं कृतेमूलम् इित क यते।सं कृतैित धारकतया भाषाया अ याः सारः सं कृतपरायणैः साधनीयः इित। अतः सं कृतपरायणशीलाः स तः सुभाषच –वोस्–से टेनारी-महािव ालय य सं कृतिवभागि थताः सद याः सं कृतभाषायाः सारणाय उ ितिवधाय च सवदा िनयोिजताः। अ माकं संक प तावत् – "सं कृत य सेवनम् सं कृताय जीवनम्
लोकिहतसमृ ये भवतु तनुसमपणम् ।" इित ।
Sanskrit is the life line of the spiritual consciousness of India. It is not merely a language. It gives the divine message of world peace and prosperity for human beings. The Department of Sanskrit proves itself as one of the leading departments of S.C.B.C College. It was initiated primarily as a teaching department for general course in 2006 and later it received affiliation to teach honours course in 2007. At present, there are two Assistant Professors and Four State Aided College Teachers. Our department organizes seminars, workshops, special lectures, classroom debates, quiz, recitation and extempore etc. It also arranges educational excursion and brings out wall magazine.
