www.dothan.com 3 CoverStory Doing Business In The Red, White & You Style Ninety-six Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce members gathered to do business in “Red, White & You” style during the organization’s 29th Annual Spotlight On Business. Held at the Dothan Civic Center, the area’s largest trade show attracted over 2,000 visitors. The four-hour event provides the community the unique opportunity to see what’s taking place in Dothan’s business community. It also gives DACC members the chance to network with each other, while at the same time making important business contacts. Both new and long-standing members from health care to insurance, internet services to banks and credit unions, office supplies to pest control and more were all on hand showcasing their products and services. Each year a theme is chosen by the Chamber to help create some enthusiasm, excitement and even a little “decorating” competition among booth participants. This year’s theme was “Red, White & You” and using the theme as their basis, members artistically decorated their booths in some wonderful and whimsical styles. Best In Show During your stroll through the exhibits, you could catch a glimpse SpectraCare Health Systems Inc. of all things patriotic from vintage flags, stars and stripes buntings, pinwheels, bandanas, old glory top hats, red, white and blue balloons, an all-American baseball team, a downhome backyard barbecue and even caught a glimpse of the once world heavyweight champion boxer, Apollo Creed, or Elvis himself. To satisfy that hunger you’ve just worked up while walking around, you could sample a variety of food items from local establishments, including Barberitos - A Southwestern Grille & Cantina, Breakfast & Lunch at Tammie’s, Cheeburger Cheeburger, KC Creative Katering, Newk’s Eatery, Rock-N Roll Sushi, and let’s not forget everyone’s all-time favorite ... pizza which was provided again this year by Papa John’s Pizza. And to help quench that thirst, the Coca-Cola Bottling Co, United, Inc. offered a variety of refreshments in front of a beautiful American Eagle and U.S. Flag backdrop created from a mosaic of 12-pack cartons of coke products. It was an amazing site! Congratulations to this year’s Best of Show Award winner SpectraCare Health Systems Inc. Second and third place winners were Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Showcase Properties and Comfort Systems USA Southeast respectively. Second Place Winner A BIG shout out to this year’s Spotlight On Business 2020 sponsors: Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Showcase Properties Cooks Pest Control and Mike Schmitz Automotive Group.
