Greater Western Project of the Year Award 2018 The Western Sydney Leadership Dialogue’s Project of the Year Awards was established to recognise individuals and organisations that have achieved infrastructure and property excellence, delivering projects that significantly contribute to the sustainable growth of the economy and society.

Set amid the ’s current building boom, the awards celebrate achievement in innovation and leadership in project design and delivery, by the public and private sectors, and recognise major projects that have delivered positive community, social, and economic outcomes. The Project of the Year Awards was held for the first time in 2017 and awarded in front of 400 industry guests, political leaders and media at the annual BOOMTOWN! Summit in November.

The inaugural winner was the Western Sydney ’s Parramatta CBD campus, “Peter Shergold Building”, which has changed the regional design and innovation landscape. Other shortlisted finalists included, the WestConnex M4 widening; Transport Technology Centre at TAFE Wetherill ; the Fire & Rescue Academy at Erskine Park; and the Western Sydney University/SWSLHD Campbelltown Clinical School.

The 2018 finalists and awards will be presented at the annual Boomtown! Infrastructure & Property Awards Dinner, on November 8, 2018 at the Sofitel Wentworth Sydney. The event will feature a speech by former NSW Premier and Minister for Western Sydney, Hon. Mike Baird and also host the awarding of the Dialogue’s 2018 Patrons Prizes for Excellence in Public Policy. Finalists for the awards will selected following consultation with the Western Sydney Leadership Dialogue’s Patrons, Partners, collaborators and broader regional network, with the eventual winner chosen in consultation with our esteemed WSLD Patrons.

Selection Criteria for Project of the Year Award 2018 . Project to be delivered in 2018, within Greater Western Sydney region . Demonstratable positive social, economic, environmental and/or architectural outcomes . Public or privately funded initiatives are eligible for consideration . Nominated building or civil infrastructure projects are equally encouraged

We seek projects across all property and infrastructure platforms, including transport, education, health, tourism, residential, commercial, sport, arts, logistics, utilities, community assets, etc.

Nominations to be submitted to [email protected] by 30 September 2018 and need to detail a summary of the project, including:

. Objectives/Benefits . Responsible Project Owners/Developers/Partners . Cost and Completion Date . Photos or other visual presentation To keep administrative costs to a minimum, we deliberately seek only short, sharp nominations and will not entertain mountains of supporting material. Projects can be nominated either by the responsible entity or by a third party (State or Federal agency, local government, industry association, corporate partner etc.)

Assessment of the nominations will be undertaken at the discretion of the Dialogue Chairman and Patrons, with their decision final.

NOTE: Shortlisted finalists will be required to prepare a 2-minute video presentation to be screened at the Boomtown! Infrastructure & Property Awards Dinner on November 8.

These videos might be used within the Dialogue’s communications platforms (e.g. website and alike) and the winning project will be the subject of a supportive media campaign.
