Elan Links: People, Nature, Water Elan Links is a five-year, £3.3million scheme which aims to secure the heritage and boost the opportunities available in the Elan Valley for the future. From 2018, 26 projects will be delivered across the following four themes: • Celebrating Heritage • Enjoying Elan • Experience and Education • Enhancing Nature and Wildlife Throughout the scheme, there will be lots of events, as well as opportunities to get involved in protecting and enhancing the landscape and history of the area. Throughout the year we have events scheduled, such as the planetariums, space workshops, bottle rockets and wildlife insights with Sorcha Lewis. Plus this year we will be celebrating our night sky with a Dark Sky Day.

Dark Sky Day - 29th October 2018 Everyone’s invited to our Dark Sky Day at the Visitor Centre! We will have a number of events as well as a Dark Sky Exhibition showcasing the images from in and round the Estate as well as the wider world. Plus representatives from the fantastic Faulkes Telescope Project will be joining us, to explain about the project and illuminate the differences in the skies of the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. Booking is required for the following events: AstroCymru: Space Workshops 10am-4pm. Join Emma Wride to learn about space through a variety of fun workshops: learn about what it is like to be an astronaut, discover whether there is life on Mars, look at meteorites and much more! Planetarium Shows: The Constellations 11am, 12, 2 and 3pm. Ever wanted to make sense of the wonderful array of stars in our sky?
