LOUIS – August 22, 2013 – Following a six-game Central Division road trip (4-2), the Cardinals return to Busch for a seven-game homestand against the playoff-contending Atlanta Braves and Cincinnati Reds. Homestand Highlights include five theme nights – Y98 Night, Mizzou and Illini Nights, Peanut Controlled Day, and College Night at the Ballpark – as well as Fredbird’s Birthday Bash Weekend. Fans can come celebrate Fredbird’s Birthday with activities for the kids, special mascot guests, and Fredbird-themed promotional items throughout the weekend. Thursday, August 22, 2013 — Cardinals vs. Atlanta Braves (7:15 p.m.) Y98 Theme Night at the Ballpark: Join Y98’s Guy, Courtney, Jen, Kevin and Lance of the Phillips & Company Morning Show during Y98 Night at the Ballpark. Fans who purchase the special theme night ticket will sit in the bleachers and take home their very own "Hot Nuts" Cardinals t-shirt. A portion of each Y98 Night at the Ballpark ticket purchased will benefit Blessings in a Backpack. A number of tickets remain at cardinals.com/theme. Segs4Vets: In a ceremony prior to the game, St. Louis-based charity Segs4Vets will provide Segways to 7 wounded veterans from throughout Cardinal Nation. Friday, August 23, 2013 — Cardinals vs. Atlanta Braves (7:15 p.m.) Cardinals Canvas Print: 25,000 ticketed-fans will take home a Cardinals canvas print, courtesy of Coke Zero. – more – Fredbird’s Birthday Bash Weekend: Team Fredbird is throwing a birthday party for Fredbird in Riverview Corner on the 400 level in right field. Fans can stop by for prizes and fun! Budweiser Bash Friday: Enjoy live music from dueling piano players, the Budweiser Build-a-Bar, and autographs in the Ford Plaza beginning at 5:30 p.m. The first 200 fans to line up at the Budweiser Bash entrance (Gate 5) will be given guaranteed autograph line tickets for former Cardinal pitchers Alan and Andy Benes. Only fans with autograph tickets will receive an autograph. Autograph ticket distribution begins one hour prior to gates opening. Budweiser Bash Fridays are sponsored by Budweiser Beer. Tonight’s battle features Captial Drive, Show Some Teeth and Unifyah. Bands begin performing 20 minutes after the gates open with each act given 20 minutes to perform. Each band will be judged on a point system by Mozingo Music and 105.7 The Point.
