• • TILLINGTON. This village lies west of Petworth, about one mile on the Midhurst road, and is bounded on the south by the river Rother. In 1851 there were 982 inhabitants. The benefice is rectorial, in the deanery of Midhurst, and in the incumbency of the Rev. Robert Ridsdale. The church has portions in the Decorated style of architecture; it is unusually small, in proportion to the size of the parish.
