Faculty Advisor: Mrs. Dalleska Volume 4 No. 7 New Babies at Central By Zoe M. Sari and Mrs. Novak Recently, a few teachers at Central School have become new parents. I interviewed two of them: Ms. Novak, and Ms. Dalleska. Q: What is your child’s name? Ms. Novak: Sarah Faith Ms. Dalleska: Madison Sophia Q: Why did you choose that name for your child? Ms. Novak: Sarah is the name of Mr. Novak’s grandmother, and Faith is the name of mine. Ms. Dalleska: It’s a very strong name, but it is still pretty. Q: How does it feel to be a mother? Ms. Novak: I don’t think it’s real yet: I keep waiting for Sarah’s mom to come pick her up. Ms. Dalleska: It’s really exciting, and feels like a huge important job, as well as a present. Q: How has your life changed at all since you had your baby, and why? Ms. Novak: Now I worry all the time about Sarah, I’m afraid she’ll hurt herself or something. Ms. Dalleska: I try to be as perfect as I can because I feel like her role model. Q: How has your child changed? Ms. Novak: Sarah makes facial expressions, stays awake for longer, and has a stronger immune system. Ms. Dalleska: Madison has one tooth, and she is much stronger. She was in intensive care, and now she crawls all over the house and tries to eat the cat!

T e a m s w o r d s e a r c h Sundance Film Festival

Skiing isn’t the only thing you can do in Park City! Park City is teeming with life when Sundance is going on! Sundance is a film festival where independent film companies make films. They display these films at multiple places in Park City. These films can range from comedy to romance to horror. One film that sold out was The Wave. The Wave is about a class that made a group called the Wave. As the Wave gets stronger, so do the people’s feelings. But as it gets too strong, people start to get hurt. This video was rated 3 out of 5 stars at Sundance and the film is available at the Central School LIbrary. Another great film at Sundance was a short film called Mishaps. It is a big collection of movie bloopers from many movies. As the movie progresses, the bloopers get even funnier. Do you like the sound of these films? If you go see a movie, you might see a celebrity, but you will also see nothing in your wallet! Going to Sundance is very pricey. The airfare during Sundance can be up to $1000. Also, Sundance tickets cost around $40 EACH! If you decide to go or not to go, you made a good choice because Sundance is a tradeoff between money and fun! Are You A Class-Act or A Class-Clown?

Movie Review Rewind

Jaws is a great movie; if you haven't seen it, go right now. Just to look at these creepy teeth makes you want to know what he does. I think that you should see it because it has lots of scary things. If you like scary movies, see JAWS 1, 2, 3, and 4! Echidnas

Echidnas are mammals that lay eggs. They have fur and spikes on their back. It is like an ant eater and has a very long tongue. They use their tongues to catch insects and eat them. The echidna never grows very large. Echidnas are not very well known, but are common in Australia. Some people might know that there is an echidna in a video game series called Sonic the Hedgehog. His name in the games is Knuckles. More clues on the next page I think this comic strip is funny because there is only one short sentence. It makes Calvin (the boy) stop and think about the threat. The tiger’s name is Hobbes. Hobbes is a stuffed animal who is Calvin’s imaginary friend. This comic was written and illustrated by Bill Watterson. McDonald’s

McDonald’s fast food restaurant is the place where the greatest burgers are made. It is also the world’s largest chains of fast food restaurants, primarily selling hamburgers, cheeseburgers, and chicken. It was founded in 1940 in San Bernadino by Dick and Mac McDonald. You can find a McDonald’s in 120 countries and states. To encourage kids to go to Mcdonald’s, the founders of McDonald’s came up with Ronald McDonald, a clown who is the mascot who encourages kids to go to McDonald’s.

The workers came up with an idea; when a kid orders a happy meal he/she gets a free toy inside. Adults also go to the restaurant and they order from the regular menu. In the morning when you go to McDonald’s, there is a breakfast menu with sandwiches and pancakes. Many people enjoy this place and it is one of the greatest fast food places. Some people have great moments of their life; they might have it when they go McDonald’s for the first time. When kids might be three or older they might get used to go to the place and they might want to go again.

The Cubs By: Jeremy N.

After losing in the first round of the playoffs last year, the Cubs are getting ready for another great season. This is 100. They hope to break the streak after acquiring Kosuke Fukudome from Japan and Jon Lieber from the Phillies. Along with D. Lee, Ramirez, and Soriano, the Cubs will be hard to stop. Ryan Dempster might move to starter after the Cubs dropped Steve Traschel. Brian Roberts might come to the Cubs in a trade. They will have to trade Sean Marshall and a couple other players. Lou Pinella and Jim Hendry have done a great job getting players. They don’t want to repeat what happened last year in the playoffs. Beginnings of seasons normally kill the Cubs, but this year they hope it to be different. This is going to be the year. GO CUBS! Game System

Anguilla is an island in the Caribbean Sea part of the British West Indies east of Puerto Rico. Anguilla is a about half the size of Washington D.C. and is a beautiful location for luxurious vacations and honeymoons. The only negative part of Anguilla is frequent hurricanes and other tropical storms from July to October. As of July, 2007, the total population of the island is 13,677. The main religion of the island is Protestant which is over 30% of the island. Anguilla’s main exports are lobster, fish, livestock, salt, concrete blocks, and rum. There is only one small airport with paved runways so it is a good idea to fly to a bigger near island like St. Martin and then take a boat ride to Anguilla. Anguilla is a fun and beautiful island for you adventurous travelers. Timeline of Apple Ipods
