Development Associate and Benefit Coordinator Job Description

Reports to: Associate Director of Development ​

The Development Associate and Benefit Coordinator will work closely with the Associate Director of Development to plan, develop and implement programs the Spring Benefit and other fundraising initiatives. The Development Associate and Benefit Coordinator collaborates frequently with all members of the five person advancement staff.

Job Responsibilities: Spring Benefit: ● Assist in the planning and execution of the Spring Benefit. ● Assist in the creation of the annual Auction Journal by coordinating approximately 250-300 auction items and writing item descriptions. ● Manage spreadsheet of all auction items. ● Create other printed Benefit materials (item certificates, display cards, etc.). ● Prepare materials for Committee meetings. ● Prepare reports and updates on the Spring Benefit ● Attend Committee meetings, take notes, and distribute minutes. ● Maintain RSVP list and help coordinate table seating ● Liaise with auction software vendor, communications, venue, production company, florist, photographer, volunteer committee members and student performers ● Maintain spreadsheet of Benefit expenses ● Organize and fulfill auction items for winners

Administrative Support: ● Provide support as needed to the Associate Director of Development and all advancement staff for events, communications, and other projects ● Assist in preparation of reports for advancement staff and external audiences ● Help produce Annual Fund materials

Qualifications: The individual we seek must be highly organized and detail oriented, able to multi-task, be a team player, have good writing skills. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines is essential. Must be able to work independently and collaboratively. Approximately 20 night events required. Approximately four Saturdays. Approximately 9 am – 6:00/6:30 pm regular work hours, as needed to meet deadlines and complete tasks/assignments. Some early morning meetings required. Candidates must be familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint programs. One (1) to three (3) years of relevant experience preferred. Bachelor’s degree required.
