Notice of Intent to Comply with General Permit for the Discharge of Stormwater from Department of Transportation and Maine Turnpike Authority Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems

Please take note that the Maine Turnpike Authority (MTA) has filed a Notice of Intent (NOI) to comply with the General Permit for the Discharge of Stormwater from Maine Department of Transportation and Maine Turnpike Authority Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems. MTA has filed the NOI with the Maine Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).

The application is for the discharge of stormwater from MTA’s separated storm sewer system to the following waters:

Androscoggin River Beaver Brook (Scarborough) Capisic Brook (Portland) Cole Brook (Saco) Deep Brook (Saco) Finnerd Brook (Scarborough) Fuller Brook (Kittery) Goosefare Brook (Saco) Hart Brook (aka Dill Brook, Lewiston) Johnson Branch of (Falmouth) Libby Brook (Kittery) (York) Mill Brook (Scarborough) Moose Brook (Auburn) Moulton Brook (York) Nasons Brook (Portland) No Name Brook (Lewiston) Presumpscot River Red Brook (Scarborough) Spruce Creek (Kittery) Thatcher Brook (Biddeford)

The NOI was filed by July 30, 2013. The NOI and the General Permit are available for public inspection at DEP’s Augusta office during normal business hours. A copy may also be seen at MTA Headquarters in Portland, Maine.

Public comment will be accepted until a final administrative action is taken to approve, approve with conditions or deny this application.
