11 Jan 2020 Year of the Rat

Rolling out the red carpet for the Year of the Rat, the ninth of Hongkong Post’s fourth Lunar New Year special stamp series features clay, embroidery, ceramic and glass crafts of this brainy and agile creature, echoing the theme on the celebration of this festive season. This issue is accompanied by a paper stamp sheetlet and silk stamp sheetlet that highlight the festivity and vivacity of the new year.

11 Jan 2020 Gold and Silver Stamp Sheetlet of Lunar New Year Animals – Pig / Rat

The Lunar New Year is upon us. It is time to bid farewell to the Pig and usher in the Rat. Starring these two adorable animals, this sheetlet marks the transition from old to new and gives best wishes for the coming year. The Year of the Pig and the Year of the Rat stamps on the sheetlet are finished in silver hot foil and 22K gold - plating. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, it is ideal both as a gift and for private collection.

4 Feb 2020 24 Solar Terms – Spring

Reportedly originating in the Yellow River Basin, the 24 solar terms of the Chinese calendar reflect the change of seasons and meteorological patterns. The Chinese system of 24 solar terms was inscribed on the UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2016. Hongkong Post takes pride in presenting the first special stamp issue themed on the 24 solar terms in 2020. Debuting with six solar terms for spring, the stamps feature “Spring Commences”,“Spring Showers”, “Insects Waken”, “Vernal Equinox”, “Bright and Clear” and “Corn Rain”. With the stamp sheet arranged in tête - bêche pairs, it is the first time to have semicircular stamps, which will be launched on the day of “Spring Commences” to herald the first season of the year.

10 Mar 2020 Centenary of Kong Young Women’s Christian Association

Founded in 1920, the Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) was the first non - governmental organisation in Hong Kong with women as its main service clients. Today, the YWCA has grown into an integrated social service agency that offers diversified and people - oriented community services. In celebration of YWCA’s outstanding contributions over a hundred years, Hongkong Post is launching an issue of four stamps to mark such a momentous occasion. Designed with attractive drawings of women from different age groups, the stamps present the YWCA’s four core services, namely women and family services, youth and community services, education and employment services, and elderly services.

Chess games help train one’s attention and concentration. As the game changes with every move, players have to use their brain power as well as imagination to stay on top. Since you can win or lose a chess game, it is good training for building resilience to adversity. Children, in particular, can learn to face challenges in school and in life. It is also a game for the whole family. Trying to outwit your opponent is so much fun, and a great way to unwind. “Chess Games Delight” under the Children Stamps series is designed around six chess games that are popular among children: Chinese chess, Jungle, Aeroplane chess games, Chess, Chinese checkers and Go. 21 May 2020 Hong Kong Museums Collection - Selection from the Chih Lo Lou Collection

Part of the Hong Kong Museum of Art’s collection, the Chih Lo Lou collection of Chinese painting and calligraphy comprises works that span from the Song dynasty to modern times covering various schools and chronicle the aesthetics of different periods and regions. These works enjoy high acclaim from the heritage and arts sectors. The latest Hong Kong Museums Collection series presents five art pieces from the Chih Lo Lou collection: Landscapes Depicting Poems of Huang Yanlü by Shitao, Gathering Fungus by Lu Zhi, Paintings on Miscellaneous Subjects by Chen Zi, Peach Blossom Retreat by Tang Yin and Splashed - Colour Landscape by Zhang Daqian. The $20 sheetlet printed on special stamp paper is an unusual item not to be missed.

23 Jun 2020 World Heritage in China Series No. 9: Qinghai Hoh Xil

Qinghai Hoh Xil is the subject for World Heritage in China Series No. 9. Located in the north - east of the Qinghai - Tibetan Plateau, this site was inscribed on the UNESCO’s World Heritage List as natural heritage in 2017. Its distinctive geographical and climatic settings have nurtured a unique ecology and rich biodiversity. The stamp sheetlet showcases the natural grandeur of Hoh Xil and wild species of Class I state protection recorded there, such as Tibetan antelope, wild yak, Tibetan wild ass and golden eagle. For the first time ever, the sheetlet is affixed with a “widescreen”stamp to underscore the theme.

24 Jul 2020 Games of the XXXII Olympiad Tokyo 2020

From 24 July to 9 August 2020, all eyes will be on the 32nd Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan. To mark this quadrennial mega sports event, Hongkong Post is releasing an issue of four stamps featuring sports in which Hong Kong athletes have won medals before or are eligible to take part in the coming Olympics. Overlapping images in vivid colours add dynamic appeal to the stamps. This issue is scheduled for release on the opening day of the Tokyo Olympics.

With an emphasis on the rule of law and legal services in Hong Kong, the Government sets up a Legal Hub in the heart of the city to accommodate offices of the Department of Justice alongside local, regional and international law - related organisations. The trusted legal system and broad range of world - class legal services would further consolidate Hong Kong as a leading centre for international legal and dispute resolution services in the - Pacific Region. A stamp sheetlet depicting “Hong Kong•International Legal Hub”will be issued to signify the establishment of the Legal Hub and to let the public appreciate the advantages of Hong Kong in this aspect.

27 Nov 2020 Bruce Lee’s Legacy in the World of Martial Arts

Legendary martial arts master Bruce Lee was an eminent figure of the movie industry and martial arts culture of his time. His great achievements transcend territories, times and disciplines. Bruce Lee was born in San Francisco and grew up in Hong Kong. After starring in local movies during his childhood, he continued his education in the United States where he founded a martial arts school and infused philosophy into martial arts. He was also an actor and made a name in the worlds of movies and martial arts around the globe. It has been some 40 years since Bruce Lee passed away, yet his martial arts image is still inspiring. Finding references from four Bruce Lee movies – The Big Boss, Fist of Fury, The Way of the Dragon and Game of Death – as well as his philosophy and signature Jeet Kune Do, Hongkong Post designs a set of six stamps and a stamp sheetlet to salute this timeless icon.

To be Confirmed Centenary of Hong Kong Correctional Services Department

The Hong Kong Correctional Services Department (CSD) was established as an independent government department in 1920 (formerly known as the Prisons Department). Over the past century, the CSD plays a crucial role in the Hong Kong criminal justice system. Correctional officers were professional and impartial in ensuring a secure, safe, humane, decent and healthy custodial environment at all times in pursuance of their responsibilities and powers vested by law. Moreover, the CSD, in collaboration with various community stakeholders, has created rehabilitation opportunities to help persons in custody reintegrate into society upon release. In parallel, the department has been promoting law-abiding awareness and inclusive values through community education with a view to preventing crime. Hongkong Post congratulates the CSD on its centenary with this stamp issue on its functions.
