TIME OF OFFERING Your continued giving through the ministries of Cross of Hope is greatly appreciated.

MUSICAL OFFERING Mary, Did You Know

WORDS OF INSTITUTION On the night before he died, our Lord Jesus took bread and gave thanks; broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying: “Take and eat; this is my body, given for you. Do this for the remembrance of me. “

After supper, he took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it for all to drink, saying: “This is the new covenant in my blood, shed for you and for all people for the forgiveness of sin. Do this for the remembrance of me.”

With great thanks and praise, O Lord:

We remember Jesus’ humble birth in a manger. We proclaim his death and resurrection. And we await Christ’s coming in glory.

Send now your Holy Spirit upon us and upon these gifts of bread and wine. As Christ is Emmanuel, God with us, so fill us with your eternal presence, that we may know the joy and peace of Christ’s coming, have our faith renewed, and be strengthened in our hope for our Savior to come again.

O Word made flesh, be born in us [this night / this day].

Accept our prayers and praises, Lord God, our Creator, through your Son, our Savior, who was born [this night / this day], to whom with you and the Holy Spirit, we give all honor and glory from generation to generation. Amen.

THE LORD'S PRAYER Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. SONG Glorious Day

One day when heaven was filled with His praises, one day when sin was as black as could be, Jesus came forth to be born of a virgin, dwelt among men my example is He. The Word became flesh and the light shined among us. His glory revealed.

Chorus: Living, He loved me, dying He saved me. Buried, He carried my sins far away. Rising, He justified freely forever. One day He’s coming, O glorious day, O glorious day

One day they led Him up Calv’ry’s mountain. One day they nailed Him to die on a tree. Suffering anguish, despised and rejected, bearing our sins my Redeemer is he. The hand that healed nations stretched out on a tree and took the nails for me. Chorus

One day the grave could conceal Him no longer, one day the stone rolled away from the door. Then He arose over death He had conquered. Now is ascended my Lord evermore. Death could not hold Him, the grave could not keep Him from rising again. Chorus One day the trumpet will sound for His coming, one day the skies with his glories will shine. HYMN It Came Upon the Midnight Clear ELW 282

1. It came upon the midnight clear that glorious song of old, from angels bending near the earth to touch their harps of gold. “Peace on the earth, good will to all, from heav’n’s all gracious king.” The world in solemn stillness lay to hear the angels sing.

2. Still through the cloven skies they come with peaceful wings unfurled, and still their heav’nly music floats o’er all the weary world. Above its sad and lowly plains they bend on hov’ring wing, and ever o’er its babel sounds the blessed angels sing.

3. And you, beneath life’s crushing load, whose forms are bending low, who toil along the climbing way with painful steps and slow: look now, for glad and golden hours come swiftly on the wing; oh, rest beside the weary road and hear the angels sing!

4. For lo! The days are hast’ning on, by prophets seen of old, when with the ever circling years shall come the time foretold, when peace shall over all the earth its ancient splendors fling, and all the world give back the song which now the angels sing. P.D. Text: Edmund H. Sears; Music: Richard S. Willis

TIME OF OFFERING Your continued giving through the ministries of Community of Joy and Cross of Hope is greatly appreciated.

MUSICAL OFFERING How Many Kings

Follow the star to a place unexpected. Would you believe after all we’ve projected, a child in a manger? Lowly and small, the weakest of all, unlikeliest hero wrapped in His mother’s shawl - just a child. Is this who we’ve waited for?

Refrain ‘Cause how many kings stepped down from their thrones? How many lords have abandoned their homes? How many greats have become the least for me? And how many gods have poured out their hearts To romance a world that is torn all apart? How many fathers gave up their sons for me?

Bringing out gifts for the newborn Savior all that we have, whether costly or meek, because we believe

Gold for His honor and frankincense for His pleasure and myrrh for the cross He’ll suffer. Do you believe? Is this who we’ve waited for? Refrain © 2006 Centricity Music Publishing | Germain and Martel Publishing All rights reserved. CCLI #941106

SONG This Little Light

There’s a little flame inside us all; some shine bright, some shine small. The rains will come and the waters rise, but don’t you ever lose your light. In this life you will know love and pain, joy and sorrow. So when it hurts, when times get hard, don’t forget Whose child you are.

Chorus: This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine, gonna let it shine.

May you live each day with no regret, make the most of ev’ry chance you get. Let your eyes get wide when you look at the stars with the same sense of wonder as a child’s heart. With the ones you love, treasure the time. And for those who are gone, keep the mem’ries alive. Hold on to your dreams; don’t ever let go. There’s a fire inside you burnin’ with hope. Chorus

There will be days when you wanna give up, when clouds settle in, but after the rain comes the sun. Don’t you ever forget, don’t forget, Try and don’t forget.

One day there will be no more pain, and we will fin’lly see Jesus’ face. So until then, I’m gonna try to brave the dark and let my little light shine.

This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine, gonna let it shine. (repeat) Oh, shine. Gonna let it shine. There’s a little light inside us all.
