Dal Dhatt, Apprenticeship Advisor South Fraser

As the new Apprenticeship Advisor for the South Fraser region, Dal Dhatt brings over eight years of experience motivating and counselling individuals, specifically youth, towards employment. With his extensive knowledge of the BC apprenticeship system, Dal is dedicated to building apprenticeship opportunities, and supporting employers and apprentices throughout Surrey, and the surrounding region.

Having joined the Industry Training Authority in 2007, Dal previously worked as the administrator for youth initiatives, responsible for overseeing the Accelerated Credit Enrolment in Industry Training (ACE IT) and Secondary School Apprenticeship (SSA) programs. In addition to these programs, Dal was responsible for managing ITA’s annual Youth newsletter publication and Dal Dhatt Youth Day event. The Advisors are an extension of ITA’s Customer Support team and are part of ITA’s increased efforts to build knowledge and awareness of the BC apprenticeship system. How Apprenticeship Advisors help Apprenticeship Advisors play a key role in ITA’s effort to positively impact the continuation and completion of apprenticeship. Advisors develop relationships in their communities and regions to promote the value of apprenticeship and build apprentice opportunities by connecting, advising and engaging industry members, employer sponsors, apprentices, and other community stakeholders. Advisors are a community-based resource for: • Advising and providing resources • Guiding apprentices who have lost their sponsor • Developing initiatives to remove barriers within apprenticeship • Supporting apprenticeship continuation and completion • Assisting with navigating the trades training system Where are Apprenticeship Advisors located?
