The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Welcomes All Cardinal Student-Athletes to Campus For the 2020-2021 Academic Year

Welcome to the Ville! We are thrilled to have you as a member of our Cardinal family. Here, you will have the opportunity to study and compete at the highest level. We hope that you will work to have a positive impact in our beloved community. In Louisville, we hold each other to the highest standards and strive to create the best future for ourselves, our teammates, and our University in all circumstances.

At the , we believe in representing the city we live in, the school we attend, and the athletic family we have come to know and love. Because of this, we created the acronym L1C4 (Louisville First Cardinals Forever) to embody what it means to be a student athlete at the University of Louisville.

Louisville First means we wear Louisville across our chest on and off the field. With this privilege, we inspire the youth of the community by reaching out and encouraging them to be their very best. We show our supporters and donors how grateful we are for everything they provide for us. We give back to our community through numerous volunteer opportunities and service. Putting Louisville first means succeeding in the classroom and priding ourselves in our academic performance. In the Atlantic Coast Conference, we compete at the highest level and represent Louisville through our integrity, grit, determination, and success on all stages. Everything we do is for the city of Louisville.

Cardinals Forever means that all the friends, teammates, and experiences made in the Ville will continue to be a part of us even after our time on campus comes to an end. Once a Cardinal, you will always be a part of the Cardinal family. Previous Cardinals have paved the way for us and have exemplified the academic and athletic standard that we continue to follow. It’s our responsibility to carry on this standard and continue the success. Being a Cardinal will change your life forever, and we are very excited to have you join our family.

It is an honor to wake up every day and know that we get to represent the University of Louisville. Each day we embrace the challenge to be the best version of ourselves. We have the choice every day to give our best effort and attitude in all aspects of our lives. Once again, welcome to the Ville. 2020-2021 University of Louisville Student-Athlete Handbook

This student-athlete handbook has been developed for the exclusive use of the University of Louisville Athletic Association (ULAA). Student-athletes are expected to become familiar with the information provided in this handbook. This handbook was created with the student-athlete in mind and serves as a guide to the many resources and opportunities available to student- athletes both within the athletic department and University. We also encourage student-athletes to refer to the University of Louisville Student Code of Conduct, University of Louisville Code of Students Rights and Responsibilities for additional policies and guidelines regarding being a student at the University of Louisville. The Dean of Students Office has compiled various campus policies affecting students which may be found on the Dean of Students website under Students Policies and Procedures.

At the end of 2023, the University of Louisville Athletic Department will be able to say in the past three years:
