Jack Yacks Both the old and new downtown libraries made the list. The Charthouse restaurant, the Theatre, City Hall and UNF's Student Union did too.

They're among the 17 Jacksonville-area buildings that are among the 100 most architecturally significant buildings in the state, as judged by the Florida Association of the American Institute of Architects.

The group is asking architects and the public to vote for their favorite. You can do that here, after browsing through the top 100.

Here are the local nominees, followed by the architect or architects who designed them:

The UNF Student Union (Rink Design Partnership; Glenn Dasher, Tom Reynolds, Chris Belyea).

Epping Forest Yacht Club (Harold Saxelbye).

Florida Life Building (Henry Klutho).

Florida Theatre (Roy Benjamin).

The Main Library (Robert A.M. Stern).

The former Haydon Burns Library (Taylor Hardwicke and W. Mayberry Lee).

The St. James Building, now City Hall (Henry Klutho).

The Charthouse resturant (Kendrick Bangs Kellogg).

Riverside Baptist Church (Addison Mizner).

Unitarian Universalist Church (Robert Broward).

Riverplace Tower, the former Gulf Life Tower (Welton Becket & Associates in conjunction with Kemp, Bunch and Jackson Architects).

The Bolles School, main building (Saxelbye & Marsh).

Westminster Woods, the former Wesley Manor Retirement Village (Robert Broward).

St. Paul's By-the-Sea Episcopal Church, Jacksonville Beach (Blake Ellis).

Three private homes made the list. They are:
