► Luminale 2016 THE GLOBAL TRUSS INSIDE B&K | EDITORIAL

Welcome to the world of B&K Braun TRUSSTOOL

Dear Readers,

I am delighted to present the second issue of our Connect magazine. After a successful debut in 2015, we have once again put together plenty of application reports, new products NEW VERSION 3.0 and insights into the world of B&K Braun for you – all combined under the fi tting name of “Connect”. A good example is the article on using the EHRGEIZ Chroma washlights at Luminale CREATE YOUR OWN TRUSS CONSTRUCTION 2016 in Frankfurt am Main which was included in this issue at the very last minute. From March 13 to 18, the Chroma LEDs ONLINE - FOR FREE! bathed the Eurotower in the center of Frankfurt in the colors of the European Union, contributing signifi cantly to the fascinating No plugins or so ware needed. lighting and projection installation from bright! GmbH (p.12).

A controversial fi gure from an artistic point of view, but no doubt in a class of her own from a production point of view – Helene Fischer has proven in the past with her stadium tour that she SIMPLE NAVIGATION doesn‘t have to fear her international competition. Her annual TV show, “The Helene Fischer Show” on ZDF, also has plenty of technical and creative stage highlights in store. Perhaps that was also because of the high number of EHRGEIZ Helios+ 19Z used by lighting designer Jerry Appelt for the fi rst time last year. Find out on page 18.

Of course everybody is talking about Prolight + Sound. Everyone has their own opinion about the new fair concept, the separation of Prolight + Sound and Musikmesse, and the new hall allocations. Here at B&K Braun we will use these new structures and will have separate booths set up for all our manufacturers for the fi rst time (p.6). You should still start your expedition from the B&K Braun business booth in Hall 5.0, A60 CONSTRUCT FAST & EASY - IN 3D though. Why don‘t you come by and have a look around our booth? We‘re defi nitely looking forward to lots of interesting chats.

Happy reading!

As a wholesaler, the new fair concept plays into our hands of course, and supports the strategy we‘ve been pursuing for a while of putting our exclusive distributors such as EHRGEIZ, LEDium and Global Truss in the limelight as stand-alone manufacturers. In view of the new topic-based hall segmentation, separate booths are simply the next logical step.

Three questions for Jerry Appelt

► How did the Helios+ 19Z do in a TV context?

The additional LED ring of the 19Z in particular had a striking and sophisticated effect in this setup. This “dual” effect helped us create a sense of depth, which looks great especially from the camera‘s point of view.

► Will you use the Helios+ 19Z in other productions in future?

Definitely. As soon as the next opportunity comes along I will use the19Z again for my setups.

► In which areas do you think the Helios+ 19Z is strongest?

That‘s difficult to say. Its design and features make it very individual and wonderfully versatile.
