It ’s a WHAT: A 7-mile circular walk from Lock to , and back via Ham Riverside Lands.

WHEN: Thursday 10th September 2020

TIME AND MEETING PLACE: The walk will start at 11 a.m. at Teddington Lock (the Teddington side). Meet at 10.30 am if you fancy a coffee first at the Flying Cloud café, Teddington Lock.

COST: Money for drinks & food if required. Bus/train fares from Richmond back to Teddington if not doing the whole walk.

You will need: boots or stout walking shoes (it can be very muddy), rainwear, a picnic and something to drink. Hand sanitiser and mask may be useful.

From Teddington Lock we will cross the river and head for Ham Common via Lock Road. Crossing Ham Common, we will enter Richmond Park by the Ham Gate and walk to Pembroke Lodge, where it will be possible to get a drink and admire the view from the Terrace. We will exit the park by the Richmond Gate and walk down Richmond Hill to enter the Terrace Gardens, where we will stop for a picnic. There is the opportunity to leave the walk here and take bus or train back to Teddington if you wish (but please do tell the leader!). From the Terrace Gardens we will walk along the riverside past/through Petersham - Meadows. After the Meadows we will turn left to return via footpaths and bridleways past Ham Polo Ground and the back of . We should arrive back at Teddington Lock by mid-afternoon. Toilets are available at Ham Gate and Richmond Gate, possibly also at Pembroke Lodge.
