1. Hosting of the launching of the National 2016 World desertification day marked at Jansa Village in Local government area with the official planting of trees.

2. environmental protection agency (JISEPA) distributed working materials for drainages/culverts clearance for the 3 senatorial zones in the state 3. Signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Federal University, (FUD) for the utilization of its plantations, shelterbelt and the Baturiya Game Reserve for research purposes by its students. 4. Distributed working materials for drainages/culverts clearance for the 3 senatorial zones across the state. 5. Raising and distribution of 5 million assorted indigenous seedlings for the following programme. - 10 kms state shelterbelts, 66,666 neem seedling. - Beating up of existing shelterbelts 500,000 seedlings - LGAs 1.5 million neem and other species - NGOs 2500 seedlings. - Institutions 2,232,8434 sedlings.

6. Establishment of 11kms of shelterbelt at Azamu, Muni and Garki in M/Madori, Babaura and Garki LGAs respectively. 7. Facilitated the identification and employment of 49 temporary forest guards under N18,000 minimum wages by the National Agency for the great green wall in Babura, Sule tankarkar, , , and Birniwa local government areas. 8. Facilitated the identification and provision of fruits bearing seedlings to 100 farmers in 5 local governments’ areas of , , Kirikasamma, Gumel and Buji. 9. Established 2ha plantation and solar powered borehole at Bajida in Suletankarkar LGA in collaboration with Federal Ministry of Environment. 10. Rehabilitated Andaza forest nursery. 11. Undertook emergency flood control at Ringim and Dutse.

JISEPA 1. Procurement of sanitation working materials for central working committee on self help groups for de-silting of existing drainage systems in the 30 constituencies. 2. Launched Waste collection/disposal in town in collaboration with two road construction companies. 3. Conducted waste collection/disposal and general environment sanitation at the 26 local government headquarters of the state and collected an estimated 31,600 tones of refuse/solid waste.

ALTERNATIVE ENERGY FUND

1. Distributed 20,000 units of improved wood economy stoves to the public. 2. Purchased solar project spare parts for the reactivation/maintenance of some selected solar powered villages across the State. The benefiting villages include:- Y/Chakauri, Kukuza, Fiji, Badungu, Dagwaje, Baramusa, Dawa, Unik, Makera, Gidan Maza, Nisan Marke, Duhuwa, Kogga, Masko, Dage, Kurfi and Dankumbo.
