Jessica’s work is aligned with her passion. Every day is a new opportunity to teach students about being strong vocally and leading worship effectively while walking out the Christian faith. LPC’s worship team, gospel choir and vocal recordings have never been better! Generosity that eland “Lee” Simonson went to be with the Lord on March 12, 2019 — days away Lfrom his 102nd birthday. While his life was one of service to the Lord, Lee — along Moves a Campus with his wife Lorrayne — is most well-known in the Foursquare family for his generous contribution toward facilitating the move of Life Pacific College from its original location in ’ Echo Park, where it was founded by Aimee Semple McPherson, to its current location in San Dimas, California. This strategic positioning equipped LPC to expand its campus space and subsequently the amount of students it could raise up and train for ministry as pastors, missionaries and business-as-mission workers. Today, his legacy lives on at the campus, most notably through the Simonson Center. Lee and Lorrayne had four children, Larry, LeeAnn, Lavonne and Loretta, and many grandchildren.

Because of the generosity and sacrifice of Lee and those like him, Foursquare’s college remains a beacon of ministry education, biblical foundations and international evangelism.

Lee was an amazing believer in Jesus…a man of great insight and wisdom…. I am reminded of the conversation we had about naming the [Simonson Center] building. I felt it should be named for him since it was his generous gift that made the campus relocation possible. He resisted the idea…He was a very humble man, but was quietly influential. I finally got him to agree to this action but only if it was a Simonson family dedication. I hope every person who enters that building will pause and reflect, even if only for a few seconds, on the life of a man who loved his family, his church, missions and missionaries, LPC, and most of all his Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.

Throughout this year, Life Pacific Athletics discovered the new successes and accomplishments that come from meeting every challenge head-on! “ found myself marveling that alumni who I graduated 40 and 50 years ago would want to come back to their alma mater and celebrate their college days,” says alum and LPC staff member Audry Adams (’00). “That’s some serious loyalty and love!”

The love was felt at Life Pacific’s Blue & Gold Banquet and Alumni Reunion, which was held on October 27, 2018 in Rolf K. McPherson Chapel. This year, Life Pacific College recognized distinguished alumni Jim Hibdon (’68), Juan M. Vallejo (’93), and Janelle Ibaven (’02) as representative honorees of the 7,766 Life Pacific alumni, all of whom share the rich heritage of Foursquare higher education.

Golden class alumna Alice Berger (’68) was instrumental in getting her fellow 50-year classmates to campus, and, almost as if by design, was the winner of the alumni legacy throw blanket door prize!

A festive Blue & Gold photo booth, draped with dark blue tulle and twinkle lights, was the perfect backdrop for guests like the Hibdon and Vallejo families, as well as other alumni & friends, who donned fun and silly blue and gold accessories as they made new memories while reflecting on the old.

The 40-year class was a most lively bunch and got a special shout out during the event, thanks to networking alumna Cyndi Valdez (’78), who helped gather her classmates and coordinate a reserved table for them. The group lingered after other guests left, joyfully reminiscing long into the afternoon.

“The collective history in the room was impressive,” Audry recalls. “I was delighted to be part of the celebration and rich heritage of Life Pacific.” By Rod Light
