Bucklebury Summer Quest

A fun day out with the family cycling through 23k of woods, country lanes and tracks with some fun surprises along the way. Why not make it a day of fun and adventure? Notes: Things you might wish to take with you: • A bike with tyres suitable for riding around wooded tracks • Take plenty of food and water • First Aid kit • Puncture repair kit/tools. • This map!

1. Start/Finish: Acland Memorial Hall, , RG18 9JH. Turn left out of the hall and continue along the road through Cold Ash. Once almost out of the village, turn right and then take the next right turn. 2. Enter the woods on the left opposite Grimsbury Castle for dips, jumps and berms. 3. At the triangle, enter the byway at the gate on the right before Road. 4. As you continue down the byway, bear right at the 1st fork, left at the 2nd fork and left at the 3rd fork. 5. Continue through the gate at the bottom and turn immediately left onto the track and continue across the field. 6. Turn left onto the track and follow through the farm up to Marlston Road. 7. Turn right onto Marlston Road and then left at the next byway. 8. Follow the byway to the next road, straight over and continue on the byway. Follow the byway to Road and turn right. 9. Turn left after the motorway flyover, signposted Eling. 10. After the farm, turn right onto the byway. 11. The byway will run alongside fields, around to the left and down to the and continue up to the road. Turn right and follow the road to the end. 12. Turn right, then immediately left signposted , . Continue on the road to Bucklebury Ford. Are you warm enough for a paddle yet? 13. Go through the ford and turn left, continue along the road. 14. Turn right through a gates before reaching Bucklebury Church and continue along the track. 15. At the bottom of the track, take the right fork and then bear right near the main road and down a ‘Quiet Road’ to the right. Cycle 100m and turn left to enter the woods opposite a house. 16. Go through the magical rainbow and follow a fun single track (beware tree routes) all the way through the woods and bear left onto a stony track. 17. At the end of the track, cross the road to a small track by some tennis courts. Turn right along the tennis courts to enter Upper Bucklebury Memorial Hall where you’ll find the pump track! HAVE FUN! 18. When out of the hall, turn left onto Broad Lane and upon reaching a right-hand bend, turn right onto Burdens Heath. Follow this road until you reach a crossroads. Acland Memorial Hall will be to the right in front of you. ⓫

FOR SOME FUN! Enter the woods on the left opposite Grimbsbury Castle for some jumps, dips and berms!
