5. Matters arising Broadband Nothing futher regarding mast but members were keen to know what was happening throughout the island in regards to faster broadband, with home working. Action – Clerk to contact SIC Development

Collafirth Hill Road No update. Action – Clerk to contact Arqiva for update

Parking at – West Ayre/Fire station area Parking still an issue with local tourism. It was noticed on numerous occasions that access to farms was blocked. If the signs were in place, it may help prevent that. Action – Clerk to contact SIC roads 1

Urafirth School Parking Nothing further.

Eshaness Development CCllr D Brown informed members that Mr T Coutts thought restrictions were now lifted enough to come for a look, and move ahead. It was decided to organised a meeting, with Mr T Coutts and Island Vista via Zoom to start discussions. Action – Clerk to schedule meeting

Community Defibrillators Nothing further.

Hillhead Wind Community Benefit Payment Nothing further.

Bus Timetables Ms R Barton informed members that SIC are about to embark on a comprehensive revision of ’s Transport Strategy which they hope will provide a clear direction for the development of Shetland’s transport infrastructure and services, in a way that provides equitably for transport need across the islands. The role of Lerwick within the wider connectivity of the islands will be an important element in the forthcoming consideration of transport policy. Community Councils will be key consultees in the development of the revised strategy. Action – Clerk to contact Ms R Barton.

SIC Community Payback Unpaid Work Team SIC Community Payback Team have resumed work. Work on the war memorial should be undertaken soon.

Swarthoull Nothing further. On hold COVID-19.

Décor outside Hillswick toilets Mr and Mrs Bevington stated that all the work that has been carried out maintaining and improving the toilets over the past 10 years had been done by themselves on a voluntary basis. They are still waiting on full ownership of toilets from SIC. SIC are going to fix sky lights and roof before they hand the building over. CCllr D Brown informed members that outdoor décor looks fine.

Road Grants Road grants were discussed and approved. Action – clerk to send out letters

PLANNING CONSULTATION Ref 2020/115/PPF – Church of Scotland, A Letter of support was sent to SIC planning.

Loss of Jobs in , Shetland A letter was sent stating the extension granted to Sella Ness has caused a huge loss of jobs and a risk to businesses in .

Litter bins in Northmavine NCC were informed littler bins are positioned at Mavis Grind, 5x lay- bys on A970 between Nibon and Mangaster, Ollaberry Junction, Ollaberry Shop, Sea front North Roe, Eshaness Lighthouse carpark, Hillswick hotel, Shop and toilets. Members felt Northmavine could benefit from an additional bin at the top of Mangaster, and three in North Roe (Isbister, Sand Voe and Collafirth Pier). Action – Clerk to contact SIC

Lochend Road, North Roe Members noticed the equipment appeared to fix the road, but left after a few weeks without carrying out repairs. Action – Clerk to contact SIC Roads.

Agenda Items 6. Launch or rocket from , Northmavine Members of the public were concerned about the lack of consulation with the launce of the Skyrora rocket from Fethaland. The response from SIC suggested NCC should have been informed prior to the launch, and should it happen again, NCC should be made aware of it. Members discussed how their should probably have been an exclusion zone in place, especially with the high volume of fishing activity in the area. Action – clerk to contact Skyrora

7. NHS dental care for the community of Northmavine NCC received an email from a member of the public stating that clinic is being run down, with the aim of closing it completely. Action – Clerk to contact NHS Shetland 8. Correspondence Association of Shetland Community Councils - agenda items request (by 14th August)

9. AOCB Road at Eela Water There is a large bump where the chips were laid at Eela water, at the junction which probably requires attention. Action – clerk to contact SIC Roads.

Quoyfirth Post Box The post box Quoyfirth has been removed. Members were keen to know when this would be replaced. Action – clerk to contact Royal Mail
