WHAT YOU NEED TO STARTHAT YOU NEED TO START Computer (Windows or Mac) Apple iPod Shuffle USB cable that came with your iPod Shuffle The latest version of iTunes Valid Northville library card and PIN Free Apple account user name and password
GETTING STARTEDGETTING STARTED Step 1: Install OverDrive’s desktop app for Windows or Mac on your computer. You’ll need this free app to download audiobooks to your computer and transfer them to your iPod Shuffle. Step 2: On your computer go to www.northvillelibrary.org click on Download Books, Magazines, Music & More then click on Download Destination. Step 3: In Download Destination sign in with your library card and PIN. HOW TO BROWSE & BORROW Step 1: On your computer browse titles OR enter a title or author in search box. Tap Available Now in left column to find ONLY available titles.
Step 2: When you find a title you want, if the icon is black, it is available to borrow now; if the icon is grey, it means you may place a hold. Step 3: Tap Borrow. Tap Go to Checkouts. HOW TO DOWNLOAD YOUR TITLE Step 1: Plug your iPod Shuffle into your computer. Then, open OverDrive’s desktop app, select the downloaded audiobook, and click Transfer. Follow the onscreen prompts to transfer it to your iPod Shuffle. BASIC INFO ● Audiobooks check out for 14 or 21 days. ● Titles automatically expire. ● No late fees. ● Check out limit is 6 titles. ● To return an Audiobook early, go to your account page on your computer, tap and hold the book cover, tap return, then tap return to confirm.
