Subject: Regulations for class GP250

Proposal text: Describe the proposal in general Since there are no official regulations for this class there is a need for a regulation for this class.

The eligibility rules are proposed to be altered with the following text:

The class is open for two-stroke Grand-Prix machines (factory-produced racing , here called Productions racer) from the 1986 model year to 2009.

Production based "Sport-Production" road legal motorcycles is also approved for the time being as they were allowed when the class was run with SM-status until 2010.

In addition, the class is open for 125GP motorcycles produced between 1986 and year 2009.

Typical motorcycles: Production racer: RSV250, RSW250, Yamaha TZ250, RS250 Sport-Production: Aprilia RS250, Yamaha TZR250, Honda NSR250, RGV250. 125GP: Yamaha TZ125, Honda RS125, Aprilia RSW125

Number plate colour: Green. Starting number colour: White.

Engine: 126-250cc two stroke, maximum 2 cylinders. Free tuning within typical technique for the time period.

(125GP, 0-125cc, one cylinder), Free tuning within typical technique for the time period.)

Gearbox: maximum 6 gears minimum weight: 100kg without fuel (125GP, 135kg with driver)

Steering and chassis: Prototype regulations, free period typical modifications.

Brakes: At least one brake on each wheel, the brakes must be operated individually on the front and rear wheels respectively. Carbon fiber brakes are not allowed.

Exhaust system: May not protrude beyond a vertical line drawn from the rear edge of the rear wheel. The end of the exhaust system must be rounded and lack sharp edges. The exhaust system must comply with the applicable noise and environmental requirements.

Controls: Footpegs and handles must have rounded edges Fairings: Shall not protrude further than a vertical line drawn from the front of the front wheel and shall not protrude backwards further than a vertical line drawn from the end of the rear wheel. Fairings shall not have sharp protrusions and edges must be rounded

Wheels and Tires: Carbon fibre rims are allowed. Slicks and rain tires are allowed. Machines should at least have “trackday” type or similar sports tires. 1

Safety: Oil plugs, fillings, chain locks, brake yokes and other exposed bolts shall be locked with stainless steel locking wire of at least 0.7mm. The shall be equipped with collection vessels for the ventilation of liquids. In rain conditions the machine must be equipped with a rain light and it may be battery-powered.
