It is not confined to just ICS/JB, It is happening on Gingerbread too! The major factor in this I suspect, is 2-step verification on the Google account! Your method *will* fail! Because if its the case of the primary Google account, removing it will necessitate a factory reset, and re-install the Google Apps and having to re- sign in again, and restore the apps. See this Android Enthusiasts StackExchange site here (https://android.stackexchange.com/a/49422/4003) It was around a month or so ago, when google pushed out a new revamped Play store that it broke. 08/05/2013 at 11:49 am. I’m sorry to say that are wrong. I just tried it and it worked perfectly. 08/26/2013 at 12:48 pm. Removing the Play Store updates doesn’t solve anything, but neither does the fix above (for me). The funny thing is that if you keep trying, you’ll eventually be able to get through to the update page for an app, and then on you’ll be able to update your app just fine, but then you might have a problem on the next one (or you might not). So frustrating. 07/25/2013 at 7:35 am. Nice. Your method worked Josh. Thanks so much. 07/25/2013 at 3:28 pm. that worked for me. Thanks!! 07/26/2013 at 9:03 am. I just wanted to add that I have the Ellipsis 7 from Verizon, and due to the limited amount of space that the device is shipped with, and the inability to move applications and games to the SD Card, and for personal reasons, I did a complete factory reset. After setting up the device, I added my existing Google account to the device, no issues or problems noticed, but after Google Play notified me that updates are available, the following happened: 1. Google Play would notify that updates were available. 2. Google Play would NOT allow downloads of any kind. 3. After flushing Google Play cache, same as #1 and #2. 4. Rebooting the device did nothing what so ever. I was going to perform a factory restore again, but all I did was remove my Gmail account, then add my Gmail account again, and everything is working perfectly fine ,and as expected. I believe it’s running Android 4.2.2 as well, if that says anything. Google won't download apps. 04-16-2020 02:57 PM in. I just got a brand new galaxy s20. I'm on wifi, the strongest wifi available. I was so excited but now my phone won't download snapchat, Instagram, or any other app. This is such a disappointment. I'll have to take this phone back if we can't figure out how to make it work correctly. Especially after paying 1000 for phone that doesn't even download applications. With the issue still happening, can I ask if you tried the Safe mode step mentioned earlier in the thread? If so, what happened while the phone was in safe mode? If the issue does not happen while in safe mode, a third party app is causing this to happen and you will need to determine which app and delete it in order to fix the issue completely. The simplest way would be a factory reset and only reinstall apps one by one and test it out before installing the next. If none of the posted steps here have worked, the next options are speaking with your carrier or seeking an evaluation through a Samsung authorized technician. Let me start by saying that I have never attempted to use another file storage system long term. Mainly because nothing could compare to Drive. I practically grew up on Google, so I just knew it and automatically used Google Drive. Everything else I’ve tried honestly was nothing to Google. I would recommend this 100%. I find nothing wrong with it except for one small thing that was not near frustrating enough to make me remove a star. This issue is the fact that we can’t edit directly through Drive on iOS mobile devices (and I’m not sure about Samsung or Chrome mobile devices). If it could be arranged to where we on mobile devices could edit files directly through the Drive app and not through branch apps like Slides, Docs, and Sheets, that would be greatly appreciated. If not, I’m sure there are reasons and it will not be too big a deal for me. As for the recommendations part of the review, I would say to anyone considering using Google Drive: DO IT. You will not regret. It’s easy to use, free, and includes every option you might need for editing and collaboration. So, yes. I hope everyone takes this into account. Developer Response , Hi there. It won’t index a directory tree or show you files without them being fully synced. I purchased the 2 terabyte plan and assumed it would behave like one drive. It doesn’t. One Drive will index the directory tree and all your files almost instantly. Then even while those files are still uploading to the cloud, you other devices know they have been shared and will be available soon. In fact, it you try to open one the one drive will prioritize it and grab it first for you. You can also see all of the files available in the cloud on your desktop without having to take up space on your hard drive by actually downloading them all. So I purchased the 2 tb plan, dropped in about 500 FB of files and waited. 4 days later and my second computer still can’t even see a list of all of my files. I need some of these files to build designs. I had to get a thumb drive and copy the stuff I needed. Because Google lacks a working index of files and won’t let me see or select files from that index to prioritize I just have to wait for weeks for my slower internet connection uploads all 500 gb of files before I can get the ones I need. It’s a bit of a joke. One drive was much better. Too bad my work blocks one drive on their system. I would switch back immediately. Design & Functionality. No complaints so far! Been using Google Drive on the web for a long time, and decided to try out their mobile app. Unlike other apps, this doesn’t become finicky and slow when used on older Apple devices running iOS 12. The transitions when switching between folders and menus are snappy, even better than the website! They don’t have to take time to load, they’re just ready when you are. I also like the ability to open pages like Sites and Forms through the in-app browser, instead of redirecting to another app. With that being said, I have a couple of suggestions. When I want to edit a file, it doesn’t appeal to me that you have to download separate apps and switch between them. It would be nice if it could all be done in one app, like the new Office app by Microsoft. Secondly, native support for editing plain text files. When working with small amounts of data, I commonly use .txt files. To edit those on the web, I use a separate add-in. But I have no way of editing those files on the mobile app, like other cloud services can. Please consider adding these features! Developer Response , Hi, Tristian. Thanks for sharing with us! Hi there @mawbbb, welcome to the Community Forums. Note there shouldn't be any problems downloading the Fitbit app from Google's Play store. May I know what Android phone are you using? Check if yours is included here Which phones and tablets can I use with my Fitbit watch or tracker? In this case I'd say that it is best to get in touch with Google directly as this is related to the Play Store and not the Fitbit app itself. You can click here to see their support page. In the meantime, make sure you have internet connection (cellular or wifi) and that you have enough space for apps as this could be the reason the app isn't downloading. Restart your phone and retry downloading the app. I've moved your post to Android App for organization purposes. Let me know if you need further assistance. 01-21-2021 13:11 - last edited on 01-22-2021 03:19 by MarreFitbit. I'm using a Samsung A10 which is on your "compatible" list. The app was on my phone but it wasn't syncing to my watch and wouldn't connect to Bluetooth. I turned Bluetooth off and on again so that wasn't the issue. So I deleted the app and tried to reinstall it and it is still "pending". I have an internet connection and all the other apps on my phone work fine. Thank you for the link to the Google Play Store support page. That helped get the Fitbit app onto my phone. NOW, when I try to connect bluetooth on my phone and I click on Versa 2, I get an error message saying "an app is needed to use this device". But the app IS loaded on my phone! It's listed under "Available Devices". So I went into the Fitbit app and unpaired my phone. Now when I try to pair it again, the app won't recognize it. The watch is charged, I've turned it off and on again and still nothing. This is SOOOO frustrating.
