Charity Moving Forward meets every three years to build and strengthen the bonds among those who will carry the charism into the future. Sister Mary Elizabeth joined Sister Carol Ann Lockwood (SC of New Jersey) and other members of the four-congregation planning team to realize the successful and energizing gathering. Sister Grace Hartzog joined in activities of Charity Moving Forward, as she anticipated the September start of her new ministry as Executive Director of the Sisters of Charity Federation. In this role, she will represent the two provinces of the Daughters of Charity and twelve congregations of the Sisters of Charity in the United States and Canada that trace their origins to and/or derive their spirit from Saints Vincent de Paul, Louise de Marillac and Elizabeth Ann Seton. Sister Grace will oversee the Federation office administration and assist the Board in carrying forward its mission. Like her predecessors, Sister Julie Cutter, DC, and Sister Mary Ann Daly, SCNY, she will assist Sisters of Charity us in deepening our relationships, communications, Federation and collaborations as a Federation and with the Vincentian Family worldwide.

INTERVIEW WITH Rosalyn Cain King Q: And eventually you married! Tell me about your husband. Where did you meet him? A: I met him, Sterling King, Jr. in California at UCLA. He became a Baptist minister when we moved back to Maryland. We’ve been married for 45 years. Smith Roy Leslie Kallmyer sisters harvest 427 pounds of potatoes from the community potato patch last September. Numerous sisters helped to clean and grandson Harry Sally and Mike Smith Sue Green Kallmyer crate the potatoes. 40 five-pound bags were tagged for donations to a local food bank. Thanks go to Sister Maureen O’Brien Sylvia Peachie Pearsol James and Dorothy Snatchko Betsy Campalong Karl and the Seton Hill Campus Ministry who made tags for the potato sacks.
