Cougars Look For Third Straight Road Win Against Bruins

FOOTBALL: WSU, 5-3, Heads South To Visit UCLA, 4-3

2006 WSU RESULTS Washington State University, 5-3, 3-2 in Pacific-10 Conference play, will look for its third consecutive road win when it visits the UCLA Bruins, 4-3, 3-3, in a game televised by ABC, 4 p.m. Saturday at the Rose Bowl. Record: 5-3, 3-2 [OPP REC] The Cougars are coming off a 34-23 victory over then-No. 16 Oregon, the first win 9/2 @ Auburn (14-40) [7-1] over a ranked opponent since defeating No. 5 Texas, 28-20, at the 2003 Holiday Bowl. 9/9 Idaho (56-10) [4-4] The Cougar set the tone against the Ducks as it produced four turnovers and 9/16 Baylor/Seattle (*17-15) [4-4] did not allow an offensive until midway through the fourth quarter. 9/23 @ Stanford (36-10) [0-8] Freshman Dwight Tardy rushed for a Cougar season-high 145 yards while tight end Jed Collins accounted for two . 9/31 USC (22-28) [6-0] The Cougars are looking to extend a couple of road streaks this weekend as they 10/7 @ Oregon State (13-6) [4-3] have won the last two road meetings against UCLA (2002 and 2004). BRINK SETS SCHOOL RECORD: WSU Alex Brink set a Cougar school record for single-game completion percentage as he hit on 20 of his 23 THIS WEEK: UCLA attempts (.870), eclipsing the pervious mark of .818, held by Wayne Berry (1953) Record: 4-3, 3-3 and (1983). Both Berry and Turner connected for 9 of 11 passes. The 9/2 Utah (31-10) previous mark with at least 20 attempts was ’s .806 (25-31) against 9/9 Rice (26-16) UCLA in 1987.
