The Warrick Public Education Foundation (WPEF) operates as a 501 (c) (3) philanthropic organization to enhance education by supporting imaginative programs and projects. It is a non-profit broadly-based partnership in education established to encourage, promote and assist educational excellence in the Warrick County School Corporation.

Grants for Teachers The Warrick Public Education Foundation helps support our system of public education through grants to our teachers and their public schools. The WPEF conducts a grant search twice a year throughout the Warrick County school system. Teachers and administrators are encouraged to participate in the grant process. Grants guidelines are available through the WPEF Web site. These grants provide funding for innovative and creative projects that cannot be funded through the available school budget. Grants are awarded each semester to teachers in the Warrick Co. School Corporation. Since the inception of the Education Grants in 1992, the WPEF has awarded more than $300,000 in grants to Warrick County teachers.

Academic Assistance Program Powered by the Vectren Foundation. Funds are provided to secondary school principals to be used in assisting students without the financial resources to pursue the possibility of further educational opportunities. This program provides funding for items such as SAT, ACT or GED test fees and college application fees.

Show Synopsis

Miss Saigon is an epic, stunning adaptation of Puccini’s opera, Madame Butterfly, by the writers behind Les Miserables. Reframing Puccini’s story by setting it during the Vietnam War, Miss Saigon is a powerful and poignant tale of love in a war- torn country. In the dangerous days before Saigon’s fall in 1975, Chris -- an American GI -- and Kim -- a destitute Vietnamese orphan -- -- fall in love. When the city falls, the lovers are forced apart, and each must find their own way, alone. When, years later, Chris is able to return to Vietnam, he brings with him an American wife. Kim, who has waited for Chris, has raised their son, Tam. With so much devastation behind them, Kim and Chris must decide how to move forward. Miss Saigon is a tragedy of massive proportions: passionate, profound, and heart-wrenchingly honest. With a sung-through score and tour- de-force roles for actors, Miss Saigon is a theatrical experience that will stay with you for years to come.

WPEF Grant Program Recipients

The Warrick Public Education Foundation awarded just shy of $20,000 in grants to teachers in Warrick School Corporation Schools during the 2015/2016 school year. This is done in two increments following applications filed by the teachers requesting assistance with projects outside of their normal classroom allocations. The money, that allows us to do these grant requests, are a direct result of funds netted from the WPEF annual Golf Scramble. We celebrated our 25th year of the WPEF Golf Scramble this past June 27th. We truly appreciate all our sponsors and attendees that made this another successful event this year. Keep informed on this event and all things WPEF at our web site, www.warrickpef.com .

This was the first year we were able to deliver the grant awards in person to the teachers, surprising them in person with their Principal’s assistance. The recipients of this year’s awards are as follows:
