STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT. FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY. CREDIBILITY. STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT. FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY. CREDIBILITY. Cisco Networking Academy Returns as National Champions Euclid High School Class of 2017 earns over $2.5 million in scholarships EUCLID, Ohio--For the second year in a row, the Euclid High School, Lakes Shore Compact’s college tech prep program walked away with two first-place showings in the Business Professionals of America National Compe- tition held in Orlando, Florida. The two events were in “Systems Administration Using Cisco” and “Computer Networking Technology.” Over the last nine years of advancing to the National Competition, the Cisco Acad- emy has returned with seven first-place finishes. In that time students also earned three third-place finishes.

Competitors this year were Connor Hoffman who took first-place in Cisco. Connor took the top spot in the event by first qualifying on a theoretical test that is based on the Cisco CCNA certification and then competing in the finals that simulated a hands-on networking environment that required configuration and troubleshoot- ing. He is the fifth Academy student to win the Cisco event.

Alex Ridevski placed first in the Computer Network Technology competition. Also representing the program in the Computer Network Technology competition was Justin Fike who placed fourth. The competition is a two-tier event that requires students to take the Microsoft Technology Associate Networking Fundamentals Certification exam and a second test based on the CompTIA Network+ certification.

Congratulations to Connor, Alex, and Justin on a notable result and continuing the Euclid High School’s Cisco Networking Academy success in the National Competition.
