Constance Lémuria Wine Selection

Was the wine that came to Constance or Constance that went to the wine? This question will be hard to be answered since for many years, wine has been anchored in the Constance’s Hotel Culture.

“For Constance, Wine is a Culture, a Philosophy, an Art.”

We can say that wine is the “melting pot” of cultures and people alike. In fact, the vast mixtures of historic background and the current modern working culture resulted in much influx of wine from different nationalities and culture.

This is this “Melting Pot” of culture that we want to bring and share within our Constance Organization.

Wine Lovers, wine passionate, wine drinkers; please do enjoy our Selection tailored for the pleasure of your palate.

…Wine by the Glass…

Champagne (15 cl)

Deutz, Brut Classic 345 “The three different champagne grapes are blended in equal and unchanging proportions, ensuring it shows perfect harmony. Its golden color scintillates in the glass, with a fine stream of bubbles rising gracefully to the surface. The first impressions on the nose are mellow and reminiscent of acacia flowers, confectionery, Reinette apples and brioche. The wine then gains in volume and its silky texture reveals a successful balance between the freshness of Chardonnay, t he fruitiness and structure of Pinot Noir and a touch of vinosity from the Pinot Meunier..”

Rosé Wine (15 cl) France

Côtes de Roussillon, ‘’Plaisir’’ Rose, Domaine Mas Amiel 2013 140 “A blend of Grenache Noir, Syrah, Mourvedre and carignan shows rounded rosé with a smooth palate and lovely texture. It's broad but dry with a hint of cherry fruit.’’

Red Wine (15 cl)

South Africa

Xenna, Shiraz, by Annexkloof 2013 120 “This Syrah shows intense wine with a bright scarlet colour. Pure grapey aromas are complimented by red spices with some herbal and lavender notes. The palate is full and juicy, packed with ripe fruit and spice. The tight structure gives the wine a succulent finish with lingering flavours of anise, liquorice and a mineral saltiness..”.

Pofadder, by Eben Sadie 2012 395 “The 2012 Old Vine Series Pofadder has a warm, sensual bouquet that captures the lighter, more feminine side of the Cinsault variety. The palate is medium-bodied with a very tart entry. There are plenty of pretty sour red cherry and citric notes with just a mote of fieriness toward the finish.’’

New Zealand

Main Divide, Pinot Noir, by Pegasus Bay 2014 220 “This Pinot Noir shows correct red berry and darker berry fruits, there is also a touch of savory spice and an earthiness to the wine’s aromatics. Medium bodied and quite smooth in texture with lighter, mellow tannins, this has noted fruit purity’’

France Saint Chinian, ‘Une Et Mille Nuits’ by Domaine Canet-Valette 2010 130 “A blend of Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, Mourvèdre and Cinsault, its shows a Garnet color with glints slightly tiles. Very aromatic nose with scents of black cherry, violets and musk. On the palate, a wonderful concentration of these aromas to this wine brings a lot of great elegance and depth. The tannins are melted, well-balanced acidity, alcohol and very long on the finish.

White Wine (15 cl)

France

Anjou, “Le Petit Chenin”, Château de la Roulerie 2014 120 ‘‘Brilliant and yellow straw colour, Le Petit Chenin has a nice nose of white flowers. This is soft, fruity and floral in mouth with a beautiful freshness and a smooth finish. This Anjou will fit perfectly with aperitive, fish and cheese.’’

New Zealand

Pegasus Main Divide, Sauvignon Blanc 2014 140 “ This vintage shows lifted aromas of passionfruit and lime. The palate is luscious with tropical fruit and bright citrus characters. Melon, guava and grapefruit flavors combine with a fresh acidity to give a long lingering finish. Nice pairing for raw or grilled fish and aperitive.’’

Escarpment, Chardonnay 2012 210 “ The summer allowed fruit to ripen slowly, producing powerful opulent flavours and a flinty mineral backbone which combine beautifully with barrel fermentation to create Burgundian inspired Chardonnay. Flavours are reminiscent of white stone fruit with delightful soft texture ensuring a long commanding finish. Enjoy it complexity and structure with your main course.’’

Dessert Wine (8 cl)

France

‘’Muscat De Rivesaltes’’ Mas Amiel, ‘2011 160 “A blend of Muscat of Alexandria & Muscat a Petit Grains Mas Amiel make some of the most versatile wines among the sweet category and that is perhaps because they seldom register as all too sweet – instead they are bright and invigorating. Mas Amiel Muscat de Rivesaltes marries a somewhat saline and citric quality of lemons and limes to gently aromatic white peaches with a mineral bedrock structure to generously provide us with a wine for any number of pairings.”

But wine production in this sun-drenched, crescent-shaped region hugging the Mediterranean from the Maritime Alps, passing through the Rhone delta to the Spanish border has undergone a sea change in recent years. ...South West...

Southwest France is a lush, hilly wine region that occupies the corner bordered by the Atlantic Ocean on the west, and Spain and the Pyrenees Mountains on the south. The region is home to a string of more than two dozen winemaking appellations whose producers are united by a passion for place. Some of the world’s great grape varieties originated here and many of the area’s lesser-known varieties are grown nowhere else.

’Domaine de la Romanée-Conti’’, often abbreviated to DRC, is an estate in Burgundy, France that produces white and red wine. It is widely considered among the world's greatest wine producers, and DRC bottles are among the world's most expensive. It takes its name from the domaine's most famous , Romanée-Conti.

Romanée-Conti has been called "one of the greatest wines of the world and the most perfect as well as the most expensive of Burgundy ... with a forceful bouquet of violet mixed with a scent of cherry, a lively and profound ruby robe, a suaveness of exceptional finesse. The wine has been highly regarded for centuries. In 1780, the Archbishop of Paris declared it "velvet and satin in bottles."

...Provence & Languedoc-Roussillon...

Until the late 80s, the wines of Languedoc-Roussillon & Provence were mostly rustic, roasted, with no interest. But wine production in this sun-drenched, crescent-shaped region hugging the Mediterranean from the Maritime Alps, passing through the Rhone delta to the Spanish border has undergone a sea change in recent years. Today the Languedoc- Roussillon & Provence offers riper & textured red & white wine.

...South Africa...

Before the last 10 years South African Wines barely crested the bottom of the grocery store shelf. Most of the wine produced in the country went directly to be distilled into brandy. Today the story is changing. South African wines have emerged as both some of the best valued red and white wines and in the highest quality.

…SAKE & SHOCHU…

‘’Sake is a traditional Japanese drink that is made from fermented rice. It has been consumed and used for religious ceremonies for over 2000 years now. In fact, a study of Japanese history would be incomplete without the study of Sake history. The drink is mentioned in the ‘Kojiki’, which is the first written and recorded history of the country. Japan is a country known for its customs and traditions, and sake, a traditional drink also involves traditions and customs.’’
