In addition to losing Janning, Brianna Rollerson is also expected to miss a lengthy period of time with an injury. Despite the setbacks, Creighton enters BIG EAST play as winners of back-to-back games. DEPAUL Predicted BIG EAST Finish: 1st BIG EAST teams have combined for four wins over top-25 opponents so far, with DePaul boasting two of them. The nationally ranked Blue Demons claimed road wins over then-No. 15/16 Texas A&M (80-66) and then-No. 12/13 Northwestern (77-64) and have shown no signs of slowing down despite the graduation of one of the program’s all-time greats in Brittany Hyrnko, the 2015 BIG EAST Player of the Year. While non-league play didn’t end in ideal fashion with a loss to local foe Loyola, the Blue Demons’ “DePaul Ball” way still dominates as DePaul not only leads the BIG EAST in scoring (83.2) but ranks among the national leaders in points per game, scoring over 23 per contest off turnovers. Megan Podkowa, who was voted the BIG EAST Tournament Most Outstanding Player in March, earned national player of the week plaudits by both espnW and the USBWA following her 27-point, 14-rebound showing at Northwestern last weekend.
