Buttercross.. Quotes have been obtained by Councillor Crewe and the Buttercross will now be cleaned. After the success of the War Memorial clean the PC think this will be be a great improvement......

Victoria Buckingham has approached the PC regarding the Valentine Goodman Charity. The issue is the lack of Hallaton Trustees to enable it to distribute the funds. She has been approached by John Stones the Chair of the Charity to see if she can help to rectify the problem. This was her request to the Parish Council......

There seems to be two key issues: firstly, the appointment of 4 Hallaton trustees by the Parish Council and secondly, the best way for those trustees to manage the distribution of the funds in Hallaton in line with the objects of the charity.

1 The Appointment of Trustees. I’m considering asking the Parish Council at its next meeting (30th July) to consider how they can appoint 4 trustees. 2 The long term strategy for distribution of the funds in Hallaton. This approximates to £600 per year. Here are some options: a The trust asks for applications for funds annually and distributes as I believe it was doing prior to the resignation of the previous trus- tees b The trust gives the funds to HIST to distribute in accordance with the objects of both charities c The Hallaton part of the trust is formally amalgamated with either HIST or the Fenwicke Charity.

The Trust needs four people to stand to make decisions about the future, four people have agreed to stand as Trustees on this small Charity, Victoria Buckingham, Chris Kilby, Linda Jones and Peter Crewe, but all would be willing to stand aside if others wish to be involved on the Valentine Goodman Charity. Please contact the Parish Council if you are interested. HALLATON PARISH COUNCIL The Pond... unfortunately due the hot weather conditions the pond level is considerably low. The Council have decided that we will not be adding water during this period as we have all been advised to use water carefully at the moment and we feel this is not an necessity. It will be carefully monitored.

The Ford... once again the Ford has been reported to The Council. The gaps between the stones have made it a danger to cyclists, riders etc. An accident involving a mobility scooter has been made aware to them. We hope this will now be seen as an emergency repair.

Water leaks... Good news, the 2 water leaks in the village have now been repaired and the one on East Norton Road has been marked up for repair.

Statement... "The Parish Council acknowledges the concerns raised by the residents of North End, however, stands by its decision to put this advisory notice in Hare Pie. The Parish Council, however, wishes to make it clear that this advisory notice was NOT aimed at the children in North End but at ALL children of the village. The safety of our residents, both young and old, remains a priority"

Parish Councillor vacancy.. Councillor Kay Bogg has resigned after 5 years on the Parish Council. The vacancy will be advertised in due course.

Next Meeting 24th September

NOTE FROM THE EDITOR. Please email, [email protected] to submit your content or if you have any information you would like to include please email us. DEADLINE 20th of each month. We don‘t check these emails until the deadline date, so don‘t worry if we don‘t reply. Please also send all artwork or content in via PDF and in black and white, unless it‘s a colour photo going on the front or back cover. We also encourage the various groups in Hallaton to put content in the newsletter each month. You will notice we also have a new section called Trade, Important Dates and a noticed board. The Trade section will hopefully encourage village to sell/trade their old items with other villagers.

Important dates will be a quick diary page showing upcoming events. The notice board page will be a quick way to see was events are on this month. We also want to encourage villagers to go around Hallaton taking photos. A photo will then be hand picked at random to go on the next cover of the Hallaton Newsletter, the idea behind this is to engage the community.

Thank you for everyone who has been sending their photos in, we have recieved some lovely pictures, unfortunatley we only have one front cover each month! Please keep sending in your photos as we will print a picture gallery in the coming months.
