STAFF NEWS Ms Dean has been offered and accepted the post of Inclusion Manager at our school. Ms Dean is currently working as a full time SENCo in a school in Inner London. In addition to her SENCo qualification, Ms Dean has also been awarded the NPQH ( National Professional Qualification of Headteachers). I know that she is really looking forward to joining our school.

Gill has made the difficult decision to step down from her position as Head Cook. She will still be working in the kitchen as part of the team and will give her full support to the new Head Cook/children and staff.

REPORTS As you know, children will be bringing their reports home on Tuesday 9th July and I am sure you will look forward to reading the progress that has been made this year and the next stages for their development.

These are sent to all parents with parent responsibility, for whom we hold contact details. Reports will be made available for those parents with responsibility, where their child is not going to their home on report day, for collection from the school office between 3.00 pm and 5.00 pm on report day – and on subsequent school days between 8am and 4pm. We will be sending details of your child's class teacher for next year separately from their report and you will receive this information on Thursday 11th July via email and text.

LIBRARY NEWS: If you have not already done so, please vote for Bloxham Primary School in the National Book Tokens competition for us to try and win £5,000 worth of book tokens. https://www.nationalbooktokens.com/schools

A big THANK YOU to Year 5 and 6 pupils who contributed to our 'Wish List' of new books. We are pleased to tell you we have already managed to obtain copies of a number of the popular choices, including Harry Potter, Tom Gates, Dr Who, Skulduggery Pleasant, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, David Walliams and even some vintage copies of the Beano.

As we come to the end of the year, please check at home and return any books you may have....however long they have been 'Missing In Action' we are pleased to have them back!

SPORTS DAY Thank you to everyone for their understanding when we had to cancel the Lower/Middle Phase Sports Morning twice this week. The weather was not on our side on Tuesday and on Wednesday it was deemed to be too dangerous on the field for it to take place. The arrangements are now as follows:

Wednesday 2nd July Wednesday 2nd July Upper Phase (Ys 4/5/6) Foundation and Middle Phase (Yrs 1/2/3) 9.50am 1.20pm

On Friday 14th June a team of ten children from Y4 took part in the Tri-Golf festival at Tadmarton Heath Golf Club. The festival consisted of eight different courses testing a variety of golfing skills, as well as a ‘life skill’. After completing all eight activities, their scores were added up and I am delighted to say that Bloxham gained the most points, which means this team will play again in the County Finals in next week. Well done to all our enthusiastic golfers: Harvey, Ravi, Lake, Ethan, Joshua H, Freja, Alissia S, Ivy, Eva and Louisa. Last Tuesday, four children from Y6 took part in the mini orange tennis tournament at . Well done to Max C, Matthew, Isabelle W and Hattie for their determination and resilience. They finished in 2nd place and received a certificate in assembly. Last Wednesday, two of our qualifying Quad Kids teams took part in the North finals in Bicester. The competition was tougher this time and with damp conditions, cancelling the standing long jump, the results were unknown until the following day. Congratulations to both of our teams who are now North Oxfordshire champions in their age categories. Well done for all your efforts: Rylie, who also came in first place as an individual, Alfie John, Barney RN, Toby, Joe L, Ava, Isabelle W, Hattie, Isabel H, Charlie J, Joe W, Finn, Jordan, Harrison, Bea, Fearn, Lily, Emily W and Grace N. These children will now go on to compete in the County Finals next Friday at Oxford.

SMOKING It has been brought to our attention that parents/carers are smoking just outside the school grounds in the morning and afternoon. Although we appreciate that this is not on school grounds, it does mean that children are being subjected to smoke fumes on their walk in and out of school. We politely request that parents and carers refrain from smoking anywhere near the school.
