1 - OVERVIEW

Boat Type Chris White designed ‘Atlantic 48’ high performance cruising catamaran – designed as to blend the best attributes of the Atlantic 42 and the Atlantic 55 (later lengthened to 57). Build Details Resolute II was built by Bonger’s Marine, Strand, Cape Town, South Africa, and launched in April 2005 named ‘RESOLUTE’. A builder’s certificate is available. Resolute was the eleventh Chris White Atlantic catamaran built by Bongers, and was built under the close supervision of Chris White, at the same time as Chris’s own boat (an Atlantic 55) was being built Key Length Overall: 14.8 m; Length Waterline: 14.3m; Beam: 8.1m; Draft: 1.0- Dimensions 2.3m; Wing Clearance: 0.91m; Displacement: 10,000 kg; Kg per sq. cm Immersion: 108 kg/cm2 Sails Mainsail: 74.3 m2; Genoa: 73.7 m2; Staysail: 42.8 m2; Code Zero: 148.6 m2; Spinnaker: 204.4 m2 Description The award winning, Atlantic Catamaran™ pilothouse design layout features a mid-ship cockpit for easy short-handed sailing combined with a full visibility pilothouse aft of the cockpit which includes a duplicate steering station with engine controls and instruments. This configuration has been imitated by others, yet no one has succeeded in building a better cruising cat than the Atlantic Catamaran™ series. A fully equipped galley is located in the starboard hull adjacent to the pilot house. A double cabin is located mid ships in each hull. A single cabin is located forward in both hulls. The forward section of the port hull includes a storage locker suitable for sailboards or other bulky gear. Each hull contains a head with vanity and ample stowage, a separate shower compartment is located aft in the port hull. The pilothouse table can be lowered to sleep an additional person (total capacity: 7 berths). After launch, Resolute II was professionally sailed to the Caribbean, and then spent the next 5 years there enjoyed each winter by Kent and Connie Blaisie, the original owners. She was purchased by Ken Gibson in December 2010, and professionally sailed to Sydney, , in early 2011. She has since cruised the South Pacific, and is now planning a trip with the World ARC rally from Darwin to St Lucia. The boat has been meticulously maintained and upgraded throughout her life, with significant refits in 2011, in 2013 and most recently in 2016. She presents in superb condition.

ERA DETAILS 2005 – 2010 Resolute was designed and built for J. Kent and Constance W. Blaisie, of Build in Philadelphia. During Caribbean that time, the boat was professionally delivered from Cape Town to the Caribbean, and then spent the next 5 years there, stored on the land for the hurricane season each year, and meticulously maintained. It was only lightly sailed, and at the time of sale, the engines had only 500 hours on them.
