uwl.ac.uk/LCMLive London College of Music LIVE Ralph Brill, trumpet Ralph Brill started to play the trumpet at the age of ten. Aer enlisng into the Brish Army in June 1984, he studied the trumpet with Ian Mackintosh at the Royal Military School of Music Kneller Hall where he won the bronze medal for the Frank Wright Cornet Prize. January 1987 saw him join the band of The , where he remained unl April of 2009 upon his promoon to Band Sergeant Major of the . During this period he connued his studies at the Guildhall College of Music and Drama with Andrew Mitchell, gaining a Performance Diploma in 1993. In 1999 he became principal trumpet of the Band of The Welsh Guards, a post he held with great disncon. He featured as a soloist with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, several BBC live broadcasts both radio and television and as a soloist with the band worldwide. In 2006 he was awarded a Masters Degree from the University of Salford.

James Duon, flute James Duon studied at the Royal College of Music and whilst there won several prizes for his playing, including three for performances of contemporary music. In 1995 he was selected as a Park Lane Group Young Arst, making his London recital debut at the Purcell Room, giving the world premiere of "The Colour of Pomegranates" for alto flute and piano wrien for him by the renowned composer Julian Anderson. In 1997 he joined the Band of the Scots Guards and has appeared as a soloist with them in concerts all over the UK, , South Korea and . For two years he was principal flute of the Showbiz Pops Orchestra featuring many players from the West End, and has also taken part in recitals around London and live performances on TV and radio.

Natalie White, clarinet Natalie White started the clarinet at the age of fourteen. She went on to study at Chethams School of Music, and the Royal College of Music, London, where she won the Bernard Walton Prize for clarinet and the Roger Whiaker Prize for chamber music. She then spent two years in Postgraduate study with Andrew Marriner ( LSO). Natalie went on develop a diverse career as a soloist and chamber musician, forming Nimbus Ensemble in 1998 with whom she performed all over the UK, abroad, and subsequently on cruise ships for five years. She has performed on Radio 3 and ODR TV, Austria, as well as worked for the Council for Music in Hospitals, performing music in hospitals and care homes naonwide. A spell on dry land performing as a street performer in Covent Garden then led on to Natalie joining the Band of the Welsh Guards in 2009 as principal clarinet.

Wen Gregson, saxophone Wen Gregson studied music at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), USA, gaining a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music (Magna Cum Laude) in 1999 and subsequently a Master of Arts Degree in Performance in 2001. Her main saxophone teacher was Dr Keith Young, formally principal saxophonist and soloist with the United States Air Force Band in Washington, D.C. Her other teacher was Dr Charles Stolte and she has also received instrucon from Dr Susan Fancher, Dale Underwood, and Sarah Markham. Wishing to pursue a performance-based career, Wen joined the Brish Army in 2002 and was posted to the Band of The Royal Corps of Signals in Blandford Forum. Whilst with the band she toured extensively both within the UK and internaonally. In 2008 she was selected to be part of the first Corps of Army Music Short Term Training Team to Ethiopia which provided musical assistance and training to the country's Naonal Defence Force Band. Aer successfully compleng her two years' service at The Royal Military School of Music as a phase two instructor, Wen was posted to the Band of the Welsh Guards in October 2013, where she currently serves as principal saxophonist.

Emilie Capulet, piano Award-winning Anglo-French pianist Emilie Capulet is regularly invited to give recitals in Europe, Canada, the USA and Lan America. An engaging and entertaining speaker, she has also built a strong reputaon as a lecture-recitalist, giving illustrated talks on the relaons between music, literature and painng at internaonal literary and musicological conferences. Emilie has a Master of Music from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and her interest in the arts as a whole has also earned her an MA on Shakespeare as well as a PhD on the musicality of Modernist literature. She has published many arcles on music and literature and has released a CD of music by Beethoven and Chopin. She is Head of Classical Performance at the London College of Music, University of West London.
