EVENTS THIS MONTH DATE EVENT Sunday 8th, Saturday 14th Street Stories by Little Green Pig. Part of Brighton Fringe. and Sunday 15th May Put on your headphones and set off on a journey through Brighton's 11.00am, 12.30pm and hidden corners accompanied by the fragments, stories and shifting 2.00pm (30 minutes) sounds of six people who have experienced homelessness. Some of these stories are real and some are imagined, created by a group of young writers aged 8 to 11 at Little Green Pig, inspired by visitors from Brighton Housing Trust. Suitable for ages 8+. (30 minute workshop Part of HOUSE Festival in partnership with Photoworks. sessions) Children’s Laureate, Chris Riddell and photographer Elizabeth Doak host a free community drawing and photography event for children and their families. Home is Where The Heart Is will invite workshop participants to create a drawing inspired by the festival themes of home and sense of place and a collaborative portrait photograph of themselves with their drawing. The resulting works will be displayed at MyHotel Brighton and the , Grand Parade until 29 May and will then be re-exhibited in Jubilee Library until the end of June. Saturday 14th May to Eva Peel - Pathways through Sussex Friday 20th May Eva grew up in Sussex and finds this landscape beautiful. She is often drawn to paint the pathways through its chalky hills and loves the challenge of capturing its contours and shifting colours and light. Eva enjoys creating her paintings outside in the landscape to give them greater immediacy and depth, usually working with a palette knife and a combination of oil pastel and acrylic paint on canvas.
