Minister Sisulu to Meet Northern Cape Agricultural and Mining Community Sectors And Visit The Recently Bought Building From Eskom

The Minister of Human Settlements, Water and Sanitation, Lindiwe Sisulu will tomorrow, 24 May 2021 meet with the Northern Cape Agricultural and Mining Sectors as part of the Department of Water and Sanitation pre-Budget Vote community engagement programme. The Budget Vote will be presented to Parliament on Tuesday, 25 May 2021.
Minister Sisulu is expected to brief all stakeholders including farmers, mining, municipalities and other water users about the latest developments regarding the Vaal Gamagara Bulk Water Scheme. The Scheme is very critical to the economy of the Northern Cape as it will impact all sectors including household use.
Minister will also use her presence in the Province to visit a building the Department of Human Settlements recently bought from Eskom. It is envisaged that the building will be used for social housing, student accommodation and office space.
The Minister is expected to be joined by the Premier of the Northern Cape, Dr Zamani Saul, and MEC of Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs (COGHSTA), Mr Bentley Vass.
