VIRTUAL SHOULDER TAP Thank you, God, for the opportunity to share in tithes and gifts

through mailing gifts to the church office, or giving online at pendletonfirst.org SCRIPTURE READING Isaiah 40:3 & Mark 1:1-8 Pastor John Groves TODAY’S MESSAGE Prepare Pastor John Groves COMMUNION (Bold type is for the people to respond). The Lord be with you. And also with you. Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give our thanks and praise.

God, you have always been faithful with your acts of salvation, love and grace. You have recognized our experiences and offered us hope and peace.

And so, with your people on earth and all the company of heaven, We praise your name and join their unending hymn:

Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of power and might, Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the Highest.

On the night Jesus was to be betrayed, he gathered his disciples at a table. He offered thanksgiving for the bread and offered the bread to the disciples and said, take eat, this is my body which is given up for you. In like manner, he took the cup, the 3rd cup in the Passover feast and blessed it and gave to the disciples and said, this is my blood poured out for many. As often as you do this, remember me. And so, in remembrance of these your mighty acts in Jesus Christ, we offer ourselves in praise and thanksgiving as a holy and living sacrifice, in union with Christ’s offering for us, as we pro- claim the mystery of faith. Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again. All honor and glory is yours, almighty God, Now and forever. Amen. Receive God’s Communion. *SENDING SONG O Come, All Ye Faithful Praise Team O come all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant, O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem.
