I know we are all itching to be back trackside, but for now it is more important that we remain safe. This weekend the cameras are bringing us the twists and turns of the technically challenging Croft circuit as we move into BEAT the final third of the season. The North Yorkshire destination offers 2.13 miles of non-stop action and I hope you all enjoy the racing for the comfort of your sofa. Silverstone certainly provided a weekend of drama and sensational racing last month with one of THE RUSH the biggest accidents in recent years taking place. Contact between Matt Neal and Rory Butcher sent the latter sliding across the grass at high speed, making contact with the barrier before rolling back onto the circuit. We were originally planning for a big event in the August sunshine and we are of course disappointed not to be able to deliver the event we had hoped for, but in the overall context BRITISH of the damage that has been done to people, families, friends and livelihoods, we are simply pleased to have you here for MOTORSPORT TALENT the weekend. The circuit team have done an amazing job getting the circuit up to speed again after the lockdown and making sure that Croft is suitably prepared for the current regulations. Please make sure that you familiarise yourself with the changes we have made in relation to COVID-19 and while they might be frustrating, please abide by the instructions at all times. As you will be aware, Croft is located very close to one of the current Coronavirus hotspots, so please take every precaution throughout your stay and do everything you can to keep yourselves and your colleagues safe this weekend. In what is set to be another blockbuster summer of motorsport, Britain’s premier race series will speed into the north east of the UK on June 12/13 for Rounds 13, 14 & 15. Returning to its traditional spot on the BTCC calendar, the weekend will round out the first half of the 2021 campaign and undoubtedly prove pivotal in the outcome of the overall title battle. In addition to the BTCC, the traditional mix of TOCA support championships will also take centre stage over the course of the weekend at Croft - further adding to the edge-of-theseat entertainment. BLOCKBUSTER ENTERTAINMENT Whilst 2020 has been proven to be an unprecedented and challenging year, Croft Circuit has still been able to reverberate to the sounds of horsepower prior to this weekend - staging two events in recent months. Since UK motorsport restarted in July, Croft has welcomed both the British Automobile Racing Club and Darlington & District Motor Club for a feast of blockbuster race meetings The BARC’s annual visit to North Yorkshire saw the likes of the Legends Cars National Championship, Caterham Graduates and Junior Saloon Car Championship take centre stage whilst the DDMC’s outing was part of the yearly Battle of Britain spectacle that showcases pristine cars and bikes from yesteryear.
