Under the initiative of Diplomacy from Government of Pakistan, Trade Mission in the Embassy of Pakistan has kick started ‘Mango Tasting Festival’ on National Independence Day at Tamimi Markets wherein different varieties of Pakistani Mangoes, like , , Anwar Ratol and are showcased and tasted for general public in Saudi Arabia.

The event was inaugurated by H.E. the Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Raja Ali Ejaz in presence of esteemed Arab dignitaries, and Diplomats at 7:30 p.m. Trade Mission has briefed the audience that Pakistan is second largest exporter of Mangoes in Saudi Arabia and all nationalities in Arab region like sweetness and aroma of Pakistani Mangoes. Later on, event has been opened for all public to get taste of sweet Mangoes from Pakistan along with families.

Mango season starts from May to end of October but due to COVID and suspension of international flights, Pakistani Mangoes have entered in the Arab region from June 2020. Assorted Mango dishes including slices of mango pulp, Milk shake/smoothies, and Cake with Mango taste have been put on display and offered to walk-in customers in Tamimi Markets aiming to attract wide audience.

Trade Mission under the leadership of Mr Azhar Ali Dahar in Embassy of Pakistan is planning to organize similar series of events in other major cities of Saudi Arabia for Arabs so that they may develop taste and sweetness of Pakistani Mangoes in their routine life as festivity. Under the Product Diversification strategy of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, Trade Mission in Riyadh intends to make efforts for greater export opportunities and possibilities in Saudi Arabia. Trade Mission intends to receive feedback and market leads at the end of Pakistani Mango Festival which will be shared with TDAP and Ministry of Commerce for developing Marketing strategy for Pakistani Mangoes in Saudi Arabia.
