Full Tunnel Closure Battery Park Underpass North Tube and South Tube FDR to West Street
Borough of Manhattan Community Board No. 1 April 2011
On Monday, April 11th, and Wednesday April 13th, the New York City Department of Transportation will fully close the Battery Park Tunnel between the FDR Drive and West Street, from 9 p. m. to 5 a.m., the next morning. Crews will perform regularly scheduled maintenance, including drain cleaning. As these repairs are weather dependent, rain may require work to be rescheduled on alternate dates of April 12th, 14th, 15th or 16th.

FDR Drive to West Street West Street to FDR Drive Monday, April 11th: 9 p.m. to 5.a.m. Wednesday, April 13th: 9 p.m. to 5.a.m.
To alert motorists of the closure, Variable Message Boards will be placed on South Street over the Battery Park underpass and at the entrance of the Battery Park underpass from West Street. Alternates for the Battery Park Underpass follow:
From FDR: Exit onto South Street, continue to Whitehall Street; left onto State Street to Battery Place. Turn left onto Battery Place to West Street.
From West Street: South along West Street then left onto Battery Place; continue onto State Street becoming Water Street at the Staten Island Ferry Terminal. Proceed one block north on Water Street, then right onto Broad Street. Northbound FDR via FDR “U” turn at Whitehall Street.
