The Bruce Rithlotz z”l Talmud Project: This class is a unique concept in Torah Learning - each year we study an ENTIRE tractate of Talmud, from beginning to end. The class is paced to both cover ground and also explore selected issues in greater detail.The class is given live in Shul, and also broadcast over Webyeshiva.org - a wonderful portal for Torah learning. Each class will be followed up by discussions by email and social media, which will allow the learning to continue all week!

Last year we studied Masechet Ta'anit, and the siyum we made on the Sunday before Yom Kippur was a joyous occasion.

Rabbi Nathaniel (Nati) Helfgot was ordained by RIETS and holds an MA in Education from the Azrieli Graduate School of University. He is the Chair of the Department of Talmud and Rabbinics at SAR High School. Previously, Rabbi Helfgot was the Chair of the Departments of Bible and Jewish Thought at Yeshivat Chovevei Torah.

He has served as editor of several journals. Rabbi Helfgot is a much-sought after speaker and his articles have appeared in Tradition, Tehumin, Jewish Action, Ten-Daat, Beit Yitzchak, Megadim, Alon Shvut, Or HaMizrach, The Orthodox Forum Series, The Jewish Week, The Jewish Standard, and Hamevaser. He is also Rabbi of Congregation Netivot Shalom in Teaneck, New Jersey. That’s what the Beginners Service is all about – an anxiety-free ‘No Hebrew Necessary’ prayer experience that will keep you looking forward to Saturday mornings. Open, honest discussions provide the opportunity to consider the questions you have always had about being Jewish. And there’s nothing more comforting than knowing that everyone at the Beginners Service is a ‘Beginner’.

Follow up the Beginners Service with an extra treat at the almost monthly Shabbat Beginners Luncheons. Shabbat rituals and traditions are explained and taught. Divrei Torah messages are shared and traditional and modern zemirot are sung.

An intimate discussion group for Beginners and former Beginners, devoted to specific topics and issues that affect the lives of those who wish to grow in their religious knowledge and/or observance. Refreshments will be served.
