Afterward, we walk together to the Plaza for a welcome dinner at Santa Fe’s beloved La Fonda Hotel (D)

May 04 - We start with a visit to the Railyard District, home to the largest collection of contemporary art in Santa Fe. After a quick lunch at the Flying Star Cafe (just you wait!) we rendezvous with our guide, then spend the afternoon on a walking tour through historic Santa Fe—a chance to get our bearings, learn the early history of Santa Fe, and gather some ideas for great meals in the week ahead. With over 200 restaurants in town, there are plenty of choices. (BL)

May 05 - Today we enjoy a full day trip to Taos by private coach, taking the high road in one direction and the low road in the other. We have a brief stop in Chimayo where settlers built what is now the last surviving fortified plaza in the US. Known for excellent weaving and traditional Arts, Chimayo draws thousands of pilgrims each year who seek spirituality. On to Taos, considered to be the oldest continuously inhabited community in the United States. After a picnic lunch on the gorge, we explore Millicent Rogers Museum to view the collections of Native American Art and jewellery. A visit to the allows us to experience the spirit and unique way of life that has continued for over 400 ears. We have a few surprises planned today before we return to the hotel! (BL)

May 06 - Another full day tour by private coach, this is our Everything Georgia day. We begin in Abiquiu where we tour through Georgia O’Keeffe’s home and studio, followed by lunch at the quirky Abiquiu Inn. Afterward, we make our way to Ghost Ranch for a first hand look at the landscape that Georgia drew so much inspiration from. Open vistas and raw landscapes paint pictures themselves and you’ll leave understanding just why artists visit New Mexico year after year. This is, indeed, an ahhhh… day. (BL)

May 07 - We’ve had a little history, lots of culture and a great introduction to Santa Fe. Let’s slow the pace down today with some free time to pursue some personal interests. How about a hot air balloon ride or a Southwest cooking lesson at a local bistro? Photographers will want to visit one of the out- standing photography museums in town. Santa Fe is a great town for theatre, so let’s see what’s playing and plan a night out on the town together. (B )

May 08 - We pull it all together today with a visit to Museum Hill, home to 4 world renowned museums – Museum of Spanish Colonial Art, Museum of Indian Arts & Culture, Museum of International Folk Art and The Wheelwright Museum which is dedicated to displaying exemplary works of art in the Native American tradition. Your tour package includes the Santa Fe Museum Pass which allows entry to all of these museums so that you can explore them at your own pace. The local bus will bring us back to town in time to rendezvous for our farewell dinner together—Western style! (BD)
