This weekend against Kongorong Nathan “Junior” McEachern will line up for game 200. Supporting country football Nathan’s career started back in 2001, under the coaching of Brad Patzel, who had lured the small crumbing forward to Murphy land from South Gambier. At age 33, today “Junior” will line up in the Reserves side. His 200 Authorised by G Greene for the Liberal Party, 25 Leigh St Adelaide. games have consisted of 168 A Grade and 32 Reserve games. In a career that has had more ups than downs, “Junior” is a dual A Grade premiership player in where he tasted the ultimate success in 2004 and 2007. He has also spent two years on the football committee, and has been involved in many other club Sponsor of the activities along the way. In 2002 he was awarded “best team man” and has been runner-up leading goal kicker numerous times. Throughout the competition, “Junior” is respected for his great skills and goal sense. Nathan was sensationally left out of the 2003 grand final 20 minutes before the game, which turned out to be a bad day for the club in general. “Junior” could have been forgiven for leaving the club after such a kick in the guts, however the following year he was back at the start of pre-season showing true guts and determination. This Coaches Player same year would be the one that he collected his first A Grade flag. Whilst his best footy may be behind him at 33, he is still an Of The Year important player in the make up of our Reserves side and a lot of younger players can learn a lot out of the way he plays his footy. Award Good luck for today “Junior” and we hope to see you still running around for many years to come. Well done.
