ALEA/TATE State Conference An evening with KEEPING IT REAL HANNAH GADSBY Friday 1st may

Conference opening night - public event

Hannah Gadsby is an award-winning Australian comedian who thinks quickly and moves slowly. She is sardonic, laconic and, after numerous bone crunching accidents, bionic. Her droll delivery, delightful wordplay and heart-breakingly funny, self- deprecating observations have delighted audiences worldwide. Hannah will return to her home state to open the ALEA/TATE state conference and tell tales of her own ‘quests for truth’. Beginning her stand-up career in 2006, Hannah has since appeared regularly on Tonight, , Spicks and Specks and Agony Aunts. In 2014, Hannah joined the cast of critically acclaimed as the character of … well, …Hannah. Hannah is currently writing her first book, based on her mildly alarming medical history. She has written and presented three specials for ABC TV’s Artscape, and takes every opportunity to present her incredibly popular comedic art lectures at festivals around the globe. Expect puns and pathos, insight and honesty. Expect to chortle and be challenged. Expect to be tickled (metaphorically) and expect truth (literally).
