A lot more plain and Hill bred Ewes on offer, again selling to a premium. 16 pens of Ewes realised £130 plus, to a top of £154 for a Texel from Phil Collett of Treforda, Boscastle. Suffolk x Mules topped at £151, from Clare Pedlar of St Wenn. A pen of Continental x Ewes from Rhys Jones of Treringey, Crantock sold to £135. Polled Dorest Ewes saw a few pens over £117 to a top of £132, from David and Mark Thomas, Treguddick. Hill bred Ewes to £85. The fleshed 40 to 48kgs saw 52+ 138 234 124 214 several pens over 250p, to a top 260p Overall 138 260 114.10 237.2 from three vendors, followed by Mr C Kent, Christa Court, with three pens of 40kgs to £103. 12 Pens of Hoggs realised £125 and over, to a top of £138 for a pen of heavies from Mr G Graham of Camelford, followed by Messrs R & C Matthews of Callybarrett who realised £136 with their pen of Hoggs. 144 Store Hoggs Larger entry much in demand, with average sized Hoggs selling to £87, sold by Rhys Jones of Crantock. Couples 21 Ewes & 32 Lambs A strong trade with Doubles selling to £178, and singles to £133, all sold by Paul Taylor of Roche. 23 New Season Lambs A few Lambs on offer saw a top per kilo of 263p for a pen of 40kgs, £105 from Messrs Shillingham Farm Partnership.

350 Cattle at Hallworthy met a tremendous trade, with fleshy Cattle on offer the prices rewarded to standard. Top on the day as in past weeks went to W E Uglow of Trelash, with a cracking run of Continental x Cattle, his top a single Limousin x Steer topping out at £1250, and another four Limousin x with tremendous outlook to £1105. Mr R Matthews of saw his pair of stretchy Charolais x Steers with tremendous growth to £1240. Close behind with a Charolais x Steer with power but a little excited to £1180, from Mr A Ward of Wainhouse Corner. Mr D Crabb of Tresparrett, with his usual quality Cattle saw his top a shapey and well fleshed Simmental x Steer to £1050. Heifers Not a lot of older Heifers about but Mr W E Uglow of Trelash topped this section as well, with a cracking pen of three Charolais x Heifers to £1175, and a second pen of three to £1030. Younger Cattle Strong demand for younger cattle, with SI & AM Barkwill of Long Cross, Milton Abbot saw his strong stretchy Simmental x Steers at 10-11 months to £810. A F Bolt of Marsh Gate saw his pen of five Polled Charolais x Steers to £800. Andrew Varcoe of Withiel, Bodmin saw his powerful Simmental x Heifers at 11 months to £790, and Phil Uglow of Warbstow saw his run of 8-10 month Charolais x Heifers away at £680 x5 and £660 x5.
