The Huskies drove to Montana at the end of summer, 2002, to pay a visit to Gaylene Lalum, Andrea Lalum's mother, and to bring Andrea back to Seattle for the start of school. At the time, Gaylene was in the midst of a three-year battle with Hodgkin's Disease. Gaylene, who attended the Huskies' final home game vs. Washington State on March 1, passed away in April, 2003. Pictured on the left is the entire 2002-03 Husky squad with Andrea's parents, Gaylene and Andy.

Former Sonic Desmond Mason surprised Kayla Burt with a visit in January. Burt, who was diagnosed with a career- ending heart condition following a cardiac arrest episode on New Year's Eve 2002, defeated her favorite Sonic in a game of H-O-R-S-E. Desmond Mason was happy to pose for a team picture with the Huskies.

Kayla Burt presented former Husky Michelle Perkins with flowers at the annual Alumni Game.
