Bill Crinson It is with great sadness that Mill View Social Club, Sunderland (Durham Branch) have to announce the death of our Chairman Mr Bill Crinson at the age of 64. He passed away in March after a valiant battle with cancer. He was a true gentleman giant who always had a smile on his face and will be greatly missed by all. Rest in peace big lad.

Clubs urged to help recruit MPs to the All-Party Parliamentary Group

e All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) For Non Profit Making Members’ Clubs, which meets quarterly at Westminster, is currently undertaking a major recruitment exercise. ey have written to all 650 MPs outlining the role of the APPG and inviting new members to join their ranks. e secretariat and administrative function of the APPG is undertaken by the Union and Head Office Manager Stephen Goulding comments: “We understand the importance of our voice being heard in Parliament and our clubs’ interests being represented and protected. “e most effective way to do this is by having a strong Parliamentary Group to lobby both the Government and Opposition members. “You can help. ACM education sessions to be run on regional basis at clubs A timetable is currently being drawn up for the rollout of the Union’s new Award in Club Management (ACM) which was launched during Conference Weekend in April. e new qualification, which has been developed by the CIU’s Education Committee working in tandem with CPL Training, is called the Award in Club Management (ACM). e course consists of three self-contained units, each taking one day of classroom- based study to complete. Unit 1A of the course covers Law & Regulation, Licensing. Unit 1B covers Other Law and Regulations.
