Peter was elected unanimously at the December Board meeting to succeed Ian Hill who has stepped down after more than 8 years. “I am honoured to accept the role of President of our prestigious club and I look forward to continuing the work of the Board to ensure Kooyong remains both the spiritual home of Australian tennis and one of the great clubs of the world”. “In accepting the position I wish to acknowledge the significant contribution made by Ian Hill as President that has seen unprecedented growth in Members’ opportunities and facilities”, Peter said. Peter joined Kooyong in 1987 and has been a Committee Member since 2007 and Vice President since 2012. He is married to Lisa, has three children, Rachel, Danielle and Alexander, and all are Kooyong Members. Murray received fantastic support from the 8000 strong crowd which was also appreciative of Lleyton Hewitt playing in what was to be his final Davis Cup match.
