Broomhouse// Community Growth Fund (Ward 20) - Progress noted.

3 There was submitted a report by the Executive Director of Regeneration and the Economy regarding the Broomhouse/Baillieston/Carmyle Community Growth Fund (Ward 20), advising

(1) that City Plan 2 had identified , / and Baillieston/Broomhouse/Carmyle as Community Growth Areas, to address an identified shortfall in housing land supply in the city, in particular for family housing;

(2) that a Community Growth Fund had been established to deliver the new community infrastructure benefits that had been identified in consultation with the local community as part of the masterplan process and developers were required to contribute to this fund through Section 75 legal agreements between the developer and the Council, with the additional benefits identified through the Community Growth Area process being in addition to existing requirements to provide recreational open space in line with existing planning policy for new residential developments;

(3) of the relevant legal agreements for the Community Growth Fund and of the anticipated developer contributions to that fund;

(4) of the 4 objectives set out in the original Section 75 legal agreements, which as at 2011 had been estimated to cost a minimum of £11.95m to deliver; and

(5) that Development and Regeneration Services would continue to monitor the progress of the house building programme, and subsequent payments to the community infrastructure fund in Broomhouse/Baillieston and the other community growth areas.

After consideration, the committee noted the level of funding currently available to deliver community benefits in the Broomhouse/Baillieston/Carmyle Community Growth area.
