UC SAN DIEGO SUMMARY OF POSTING GUIDELINES Updated April 2020

This list provides links and information about posting guidelines in various UC San Diego campus Grounds and Facilities. PPM 510-I IX - Policy on Speech, Advocacy and Distribution of ​ Literature on University Grounds implements the University’s systemwide Policy on Speech and ​ ​ ​ Advocacy at UC San Diego. PPM 510-1 IX applicable on all UC San Diego Grounds and ​ ​ ​ ​ Facilities.

In addition to PPM 510-1 IX, other rules and guidelines have been implemented to address posting in specific campus areas. The Director’s Council of Residence Life has implemented campus-wide Single Undergraduate Housing and Residential Rules, which contain specific ​ ​ posting rules for all undergraduate residential areas. Each undergraduate college and/or residential area has implemented more specific rules for their physical spaces. Similarly, Graduate and Family Housing has implemented similar rules in its Handbook. ​ ​

ELEANOR ROOSEVELT COLLEGE (ERC) ○ In addition to campus-wide posting rules, the ERC Residence Life office allows posting of 3 to 4 butcher paper posters and 5 to 6 8.5x11 small brochures. Contact the ERC ​ ​ Residence Life Office at (858) 534-2261 or [email protected] for more information.

GILMAN DRIVE BRIDGE ○ Contact the Dean of Student Affairs Office at (858) 534-3493 for more information.

LA JOLLA VILLAGE DRIVE BRIDGE ○ The City of San Diego permits banners made of cloth to be attached to the bridge with string or rope. Contact the City of San Diego for prior approval at (619) 236-5555.

MARSHALL COLLEGE ○ In addition to campus-wide posting rules, the Marshall College Residential Life Office maintains Posting Regulations for Areas and facilities. Contact the Marshall College ​ ​ Residence Life Office at (858) 534-4340 or [email protected] for more information. ​

MUIR COLLEGE ○ In addition to campus-wide posting rules, Muir College maintains the College Posting Policy and posting language within its Residential Life Handbook (see Pages ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ 62-63). SIXTH COLLEGE ○ maintains a college-specific Posting Policy. Contact the Sixth College ​ ​ ​ Residential Life Office at (858) 822-5268​ or [email protected] for more information. ​

VILLAGE AT TORREY PINES ○ The Village at Torrey Pines allows a maximum of 15 posters to be posted per person. Posters must be dropped off at the Residential Life Office for approval prior to posting. Contact the Village at Torrey Pines at (858) 534-9380 or [email protected] for more information.

WARREN COLLEGE ○ Warren College maintains a college-specific Posting Policy. Contact the Warren College ​ ​ ​ Residential Life Office at 858-534-4581 or [email protected]. ​
