12 Dear Friends, I am happy to have the opportunity to extend this greeting and I am truly looking forward to doing it again, physically the next time, together with you very soon. It was 10 years ago that the man who laid the foundation for Information Technologies in Romania passed away. Professor Mihai Draganescu was a great man, a great teacher and a great visionary. I feel blessed for having had the privilege of being considered as his friend. It is now upon all of us to recognize his seminal contributions and keep alive his memory as a bright light that continues to inspire, to motivate and to guide. I feel personally inspired by his memory as I am now working with like- minded colleagues throughout the world to promote Digital Enlightenment and Humanism.
13 The pandemic acts as a great accelerator of digitalization which has moved us massively into the online world in a phenomenally short time. Just imagine what the world would be without IT today. It would not work. It becomes now more important than ever that we help shape technologies in accordance with human values and needs instead of allowing technologies to shape humans. We are therefore deeply committed to a process that brings together academics, industrial leaders and policy decision makers around the world who share our concerns and hopes for the future. It is and effort that Mihai, Prof. Draganescu, would approve of and support and I invite you all to participate in whichever way you deem appropriate. Professor Dzitac, dear Manolescu family, Professor and dear friend Florin Filip, I thank you and congratulate you for your successful efforts in creating and maintaining an energized community around this conference for which I wish you all great success.

28 The AGORA Brand
By definition, a university is a rather complex institution, with crucially important goals-tasks. Basically, two different generations are cooperating, co-working, the professors (the staff, in general) and the students, with a common objective, dealing with both the continuity and enrichment of knowledge and education, the latter one being understood in the multidimensional sense – scientific, cultural, civilian at the same time. And, around the institution itself, a community is naturally formed, of graduated students, of collaborators, friends, all of them bound together by the Alma Mater sentiment. In two decades – a short time for a higher education school, a long period for “the always accelerated” modern times – the AGORA University not only proved that such a complex and ambitious institution can be created, but it also became a visible and respected name, a brand, in the broad meaning of the term. From my point of view, very relevant in this respect are the achievements which are not simply stated in the list of basic duties of a university, those directly related to producing successful graduated students, which are minimal and obligatory duties, but related to the projects which only part of the universities are addressing, usually those with a longer tradition, with a strong personality.
29 I have in mind, for example, the editing of one or more scientific journals and the organizing of one or more conferences – desirably, both of them of an international level, in direct competition with international journals and conferences. The AGORA University reached the excellence in both these directions – I only mention International Journal of Computers Communications & Control (IJCCC), with its high impact and visibility, and International Conference on Computers Communications and Control (ICCCC), with its high audience and prestige, because they are closer to my preoccupations and because I know that they are nowadays among the best if not simply the best in their categories in Romania, in computer science. Congratulations and thanks are due to all persons involved in the university activity and life, with a special emphasis to the founders and the managerial staff, from the beginnings until today. Their ideas, work, initiatives, their devotion were materialized in what the AGORA University is today!

31 Dear Participants,
The success of this conference is undeniable. For me, it has been an honor to be invited once to deliver a talk an edition of IJCCC. The 15 anniversary of this Conference is a moment of cheerfulness especially in these darker times. It is also a moment of reporting and summarizing a long and fruitful activity of the authors, organizers, and founders, Professors I. Dzitac, F.G. Filip & M.J. Manolescu – all have to be congratulated for the high standards of this activity. The anniversary is in addition a moment of remembrance of those participants and contributors who are no more together with us, starting with the late Professor Lotfi Zadeh. Please, let me wish the entire audience a very successful participation in this edition of the Conference!

35 Thanks to the organizers of ICCCC 2020 for the invitation and for organizing the conference. • I remember with pleasure the participation in the ICCCC in the spring of 2008 and the meeting with many personalities of the IT world and first of all with Lotfi Zadeh. ICCCC conferences play an important role in the IT landscape. We live in difficult times caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. IT has changed the world and the planet is better prepared to face it. Working from home, video conferencing has radically changed the response to the pandemic. Even directly by monitoring the movement of people, although the method is generating a lot of controversy. The world will undoubtedly change! Scientific discoveries in IT are appearing rapidly and we can expect many new things every year in the context of artificial intelligence, big data, cloud and mobile. The ICCCC will of course reflect these findings. I also suggest a permanent section dedicated to IT history. There is a lot to say, especially since many of the protagonists are still alive.
